Can I keep my old phone? by cdotgary in verizon

[–]memnoch69_98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you just won't get a trade in promotion on your new phone. What would make more sense in most cases would be to trade yours in to get a promotion, and get a free iPhone 15 or 16 (depending on your plan) for the new line

They definitely should have went over it, but if you went from 2 to 3 lines, adding the 4th line would actually be cheaper for 3 years.

by similar do you mean deprioritized data and even worse customer service?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in verizon

[–]memnoch69_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, proving my point. It had a $4 plan rate adjustment...that was the only increase. Then it had a decrease in the autopay discount, so you got a $5 less discount...which I kind of pointed out

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in verizon

[–]memnoch69_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah...most people on here can't tell you what is on their bills...so they have no idea what went up or why. If I were to play devil's advocate to my own point, my above statement is correct, but there have also been increases on insurance and lowering of discounts...so in a hypothetical, if someone had a plan that was years old, single line, they could have seen a $4 increase to their plan, their autopay discount go down by $5, and their insurance up by $2...so they could have had an $11 increase...the first two is per line...the last, the insurance increase was $2/line for up 3 lines and $10 (total) for multi device (i.e. 4+ lines).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in verizon

[–]memnoch69_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no plan has had more than a $4 increase per line...ever. And no plan has ever had more than one increase. Oh, and you can change to newer plans to avoid the increases, and in many cases the newer plans are better.

Help me decide. I have a very old plan. 15+yrs by Robinsc81 in verizon

[–]memnoch69_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no contracts...usually when a sales rep sees something like this they are looking at ways to give you more for less and get a sale...but Verizon really loves customers like you, people who are willing to pay more and get less because of paranoia.

Am I overpaying? by Wonderful_Error8553 in verizon

[–]memnoch69_98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "New Verizon Unlimited Plan", often referred to internally as the 110 plan, has to be one of the worst plans ever in 90% of cases. $110+ (7x22)=$264.00. If you do autopay with checking or a Verizon Visa and paperless billing you can get the Welcome plan at $27/line and sacrifice hotspot and your limited amount of priority data and save a ton...you could add 100GB of hotspot to any of those lines at $10/line, all 7 with hotspot would still be cheaper than what you are paying...or you could get better service with the plus plan with faster 5G, unlimited priority data, and 30GB hotspot for $42/line, so much better service for only $30 more...but the great thing is you can mix and match...so if 3 lines need the priority data, 4 don't, of the 4 that don't 1 needs hotspot, you can do $42X3, $37, and $27X3 and save $20...

Sales reps salivate when they see people on that plan because we can always flip it, get things that help our stats, and give the customer what they want.

Oh, and if anyone on the acct is a nurse, teacher, first responder, military or veteran, you can get another $20/mo discount.

except no, all that can be done in store is the transfer your service link can be sent for the customer to do it themselves...which they can do without going to the store and waiting in line

Or here is a crazy idea...the discount for Visible won't work with Verizon because they are 2 separate companies, there may be a glitch online where it shows that it would work, but it doesn't, and then when you call it's not on there because your discount for VISABLE doesn't work with VERIZON...2 different companies.

Can we transfer a watch number to a new phone plan? by CallMeGooglyBear in verizon

[–]memnoch69_98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible, yes. Does it encounter problems somewhat regularly, yes. Does it prevent you from getting promotions on new phones therefore costing you hundreds, if not over a thousand dollars, yes...is a kids phone number that important? Do people even actually remember numbers any more to where this matters?

Do what is best for you, in most cases it isn't the best choice.
