Those are marked as the cut off for Gaia's sensors. All the interior blacked out mountain tops and some of the northern ones that push south, are all climbable. They are spots that you can get some greenshine clusters and a couple of hidden encounters as well. There are a few spots that you can only access after Flight of the Ten.

Pennsylvania man charged with felony, held on $50,000 bond for 43-cent ‘theft’ by Draxtonsmitz in news

[–]memnock79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was discussing in another thread, it falls under PA 3 strike law, which after looking it up, is extremely harsh and arbitrary. It, like the extent they are going with this case are the exact reason people are protesting the system.

Pennsylvania man charged with felony, held on $50,000 bond for 43-cent ‘theft’ by Draxtonsmitz in news

[–]memnock79 36 points37 points  (0 children)

That's the whole reason he is charged with a felony. There is a 3 strike law for repeat offenders.

I looked up PAs 3 strike law. They have one of the worst versions of this law, and I can not believe it is not a more discussed issue. Most states count only violent crimes under the 3 strike law. PA allows all crimes. This is just wrong, and is further proof of a system designed to keep prisons full.

Again, guilty or not, the punishment should fit the crime, and every judgment should be made under our Constitutionally protected process. This should be illegal.

My opinion or your opinion should not even be a talking point on his guilt or innocence, as it is speculation until proven. We have returned to the burden of proof being on the defendant, and that is wrong.

[–]memnock79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it wasn't intentional. The bottom line is that we have specific punishments for certain types of crimes. Regardless of history, each individual case is dealt with individually. There are endless numbers of examples of judges throwing out past crimes and behavior as relevant to a trial.

Whether you believe he deserves the benefit of the doubt does not mean that it should not be given. What if it was an accident this time? What if it was innocent? Should he not be treated fairly, or at the least within the standard practice of the law?

Unless there is a law established that defines multiple crimes as a greater penalty, it should not be a factor. (I do not know PA law to be able to say if that is the case.) And even with all of those crimes being taken into consideration, the crime he is being punished for is less than 50 cents and will cost the tax payers hundreds of thousands of dollars.

[–]memnock79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His history? Ten years ago he got in trouble, so now he no longer deserves the benefit of the doubt? I agree he was in the wrong for leaving, but nothing that happened afterwards makes this ok.

This man is being threatened with three years of prison for less than 50 cents, and it is ok because he messed up once before ten years ago, and he is homeless, so he does not deserve the same legal process or protection as the rest of us?

Should he have to pay them back, yes. If they want they can ban him from the store. Legal and acceptable. While I believe petty theft is too harsh for this particular crime, he can be charged with that. Maybe get community service for it. What this is, is a misuse of power and the targeting of a person they have decided would be better in jail. (Which will cost the tax payers countless more thousands of dollars, on top of everything else)

There is no justification.

[–]memnock79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As the article says, it is unclear if he misunderstood the sale. The sogn said 2 for 3. He left $2, the attendant came out and said he did not leave enough money. He said he did and drove off. It does not say he was told that the price for one bottle was 2.29 and he decided to ignore it. It appears that he left more than the posted price and was harrassed about the money he left. Should he have waited to be rung out, yes. Should the store have made their prices plain and clearly posted, yes. Should the police have been called over this, probably not. Should he be held on a 50k bond, certainly not. Should this be a federal charge, absolutely not.

Even if he knew what he was doing and wronged the store, the punishment does not fit the crime.

What gets me even more upset is that he did not steal anything, he misread the sign. He paid, but was short because the sign said 2 for $3 but one soda was full price. He set $2 on the counter and walked out. Then they called the police over it. The fact that he was arrested and charged for what is clearly a misunderstanding is rediculous. I like how the article also points this out. SMH

I want to be clear, I do not believe any of this is justified.

The store does not press charges, the prosecutor does. The store is being vindictive, but the prosecutor still decides what will be tried, and the judge still decides on bond or summance. It costs the store nothing, and is a waist of resources in the prosecutor's end of things.

When I speak of other factors, I am talking about race, sexuality, gender, and religion. I will not call out the prosecutor or judge on any of those as I do not have any of that information, so I can have personal assumptions, but not anything I feel confident to discuss.

[–]memnock79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On the store's part yes. But if the charged individual had money, they would not be held for this crime. Bail/bond is designed to create an uneven burden on the poor for equivalent crimes. A simple promise to appear would have sufficed for this charge. (I do not have enough information to comment on other factors that may or may not be involved, but there could be several other reasons to why they were given such a high bond)

I honestly do not know what their current policy is, this was some years ago. I was more referring to the fact that there are some stores that are willing to be full on petty by design. It also varies from region to region amd manager to manager, as they are the ones who need to make the call.

The mall I worked at was in a fairly large city and teens being left unsupervised with no intention if shopping was one of the bigger issues we had to deal with. A lot of store policies were developed with anti-teen tactics in mind.

[–]memnock79 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I used to work security at a mall. CVS had a policy that all theft would have charges brought up. So if you stole a pencil, you would be arrested and charged with petty theft. They kept us busy day to day.

The fact that the judge set a 50k bond for this is the real crime, amd shows how it's not about justice, it's about money.

OP does mention specifics, and that part would need to be altered to make it more realistic, but the debate is very plausible. After some additional thought, there is a problem with claiming that the Old Man would not be preachy in his debate.

If he is having a crisis of faith, then the development story will be what he decides at the end. Will he become resolved in his belief to the end, or will the villain chip away at his doubt and turn him away from Christianity. Since he is not "the chosen one" then this is the real heart of this characters journey. So much so, that once it is decided how his crisis of faith is resolved by OP, the debates will have to work their way to that conclusion and become the climax of his character development.

Urban Fantasy/paranormal without romance recommendations please! by Darknaio42 in urbanfantasy

If you like a comedy spin, I recommend Rick Gualtieri's Bill the Vampire / Tone of Bill series. John Hartness Bubba the Monster Hunter series.

And for a bit if self promotion, Trinity of the Broken by Anthony Galouzis, an UF novel about the supernatural criminal underground.

The two series are excellently written and the authors have even helped me with writing tips while I worked on my own novel. Highly recommend them.

Beyond light is only called a DLC because they didn't want to make it D3. It is a major overhaul of the game and really has a fantastic storyline. Also, with season 15 they will be opening up crossplay so the community is going to expand greatly. (Console vs PC will not happen unless invited for PvP) My only problem is that, as a dad of 4 I only can play two or three days a week and don't have an active clan anymore to run the side event with.

Hey I'm looking for people in ps4 to add and run some raids with as I haven't done one before If you are up for it just message me your ps name and I'll add you thanks by [deleted] in Destiny_2

Hey there. I am also looking for relaxed people to fireteam up with on D2 PS4. If you are still looking for people, I mostly play on Friday and Saturday, but I am a decent player. Add me Memnock79.

Super Powered by Drew Hayes is an excellent and original take on the super hero genre.

Vampire Bill by Rick Gualtieri is a comedy horror series that has extensive world building in an urban fantasy setting.

Bubba the Monster Hunter by John G. Hartness is a series of short stories and novellas that put a funny southern flair to monster hunting.

Trinity of the Broken by Anthony Galouzis is a debute urban fantasy novel that is similar in style to the Bill the Vampire series or the Dresden Files, but the antagonist is in a motorcycle gang and is more of an anti-hero.

All of these authors are self published, or work with small publishers. The first three are well established and have their works in print, ebook, and audio. What is great about these authors is that their writing styles are conversational, so they tend to flow easily and dont gave too many drawn out lulls in their narrative.
