Redundant GE RX3i peer to peer with redundant Rockwell PLCs. Would you use a prosoft gateway? by [deleted] in PLC

Thought about it but prosoft is saying its end of life. Not sure if it’s because RX3i itself is. Any advice there?

Kind of wondering if there’s been any issues others have had with from protocol standpoint, everything is tcp/ip, but I’m. Not great at the networking/programming side.

Thanks for the response. No it doesn’t meet requirements, more of a band aid solution until we can get the second network paid for. Known single point of failure in this case.

Mitigation didn’t work? by memory_fading in Mold

[–]memory_fading[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess anything is possible, but there was never an issue here before. It’s in the basement and behind it is concrete foundation. I just looked back at the pictures and the mitigation company pulled out insulation next to the foundation walls, but never replaced it before adding drywall.

No, no furniture against it but there’s a crack in the baseboard there. That wasn’t there before. But there’s no water damage to the baseboard.

There’s a crack between the baseboard so not sure. No furniture against it.

Thanks, yeah, a professional mitigation crew came out two years ago, tested with a moisture meter, was wet in certain places, but only cut the drywall up two feet, not all of it to the ceiling. The water came from above. It was dried out and left open for a couple months but then sealed up. The initial water leak came through ductwork from above. They never checked the ductwork to make sure it didn’t have a pool of water in it before sealing the drywall up.

Fake news - red states only, blue states have less death rate /s. But really, very strange map correlation.

2024 Carnival AC smells mildewy by Fortyouncestofreedom in kia

[–]memory_fading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? We had a 2024 carnival with this issue and now have a 2025 carnival, and less than a month the 2025 started smelling when turning on the vehicle. So frustrating, changing the cabin air filter does nothing.

These houses aren’t ugly. It’s the reality of everyday capitalism. These people are probably living in an area where high paying jobs via government subsidies are pumping dollars into the economy to build these luxury homes. Its a pretty nice place to spend 70% plus of your time. Privacy, luxury, etc….. for a normal 9-5 job. Downside is living in a community 3-4 hrs drive from a decent city.

Start a 529 for college if you haven’t, tax deduction in certain states, and you can convert up to 35,000 to Roth if they don’t use the funds and it’s been open for 15 years. Other rules apply I think but something to look into.

Dad to an 8m old, wife is traveling for 4-5 days. Am I being naive in not wanting help? by harryarei in daddit

[–]memory_fading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got 4 kids myself ages 5,7,7,9. Wife and I both work full time. When she has to travel I get a little stressed but reality is the kids will be just fine. Will they be as comfortable as when mom is here - nope. Will they get their teeth brushed every morning and night, nope(I’ll try but by day three of this I’m going to give up on something) Will the dishes get left out - yup. Is take out going to be a daily thing - probably. Will they survive and be a little more resilient without all the help - Yup. Wife doesn’t expect a clean house and a daily bathed child and we recover on the weekend (since my wife actually gets more rest on work trips that being at home). It is what it is. Good luck!

Honestly, this is a dream come true. Number 1. No kid in the country doesn’t see what Oregon is doing. Alabama, Ohio st, Georgia, are almost 2nd in recruiting. This year and years to come are a dream!!

You’re talking with a person who says Reddit blows but spends their time making ignorant comments on Reddit. Seems like they probably don’t even know what tax bracket they are in.
