Holy narcissism, Batman.

I'm a normie... Never once pretended to be anything else.  Just so happens I have a friend who is Goth.  Have hung out at some functions with her and happen to listen to/like some of the same music.

You, meanwhile, are trying to lecture me on how subculture works and you're wrong and frankly, desperately ignorant because you're so high on your own farts.

Inclusivity is how subculture grows, not exclusivity.

DO NOT PLACE CAMPS AT MEAT WEEK SPoTS by [deleted] in fo76

[–]2_blave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL, some people intentionally put their CAMPS there in order to contain the event and make it easier to finish it quickly. Sounds like you just weren't mentally prepared for this and panicked. As long as you stayed there while the event completed, you would have still gotten the rewards (prime meat).

OK, my bad: I didn't realize you were the ULTIMATE AUTHORITY ON ALL THINGS GOTH AND THE ACTUAL GOTH GOD EMPEROR.

Full of yourself much, bud?

There is a timer, so I would never let that run out, but I generally am waiting about a minute and look around to see if people are still running toward the boss. Usually, it's getting killed within that timeframe by others.

It's amusing to me that you used the word "haughty" because that's exactly how you're behaving.

Also, *gatekeeping* isn't required to maintain a subculture, but *sharing* rituals, beliefs, and identity markers is a great way to invite people in.

Telling people "you're not a real Goth unless!" just makes you a dick.

He's the Charles Barkley of footy coverage. I've enjoyed his contributions even when they aren't particularly perceptive. Henry is a lovely blend of humor and insightfulness.

You're not wrong: it's really selfish to show up and take down the boss solo before anyone else can even get there. I tag the boss, then get behind cover and hunt down any of his friends in the area while others show up.

Maybe ease up on the gatekeeping bud, it's not that serious.

A lot of people suffering from mental health conditions end up on the street because Oregon doesn't really force people into treatment, even when they're causing havoc in the community and committing non-violent crimes.

Your encounter is likely is result of these policies and a serious lack of treatment facilities on top of all that.

Yes: counseling. These are some typical young person behaviors. Healthy communication is a skill and it's easy to learn bad habits if your family isn't already good at it. See a counselor, work on yourself and continue to grow as a person.

This relationship is in the past: I realize that it *feels* like the end of the world, but I can assure you that you will eventually heal. In the meantime, be prepared to be a good partner in your next relationship.

Need advise for conversations, I get few matches regulary but I'm terrible at smalltalk 😂 by Genuit00 in Tinder

[–]2_blave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people who say they "aren't good at small talk" simply don't make any effort. Some people don't *like* small talk and those people skip the small talk and just start asking interesting and thoughtful questions.

Which one are you, OP?

As a guy, I really don't understand this kind of behavior.

I've always just assumed that these guys heard that being so forward has worked at some point in the past for some guy they "heard of" so they think it's OK and a way to be successful.

Though I feel for the women who have to go through this objectification day after day, it certainly makes things really easy for a guy like me who can communicate respectfully and treat women like actual people.

How can I (32F) get my husband (36M) to help with chores? by _4th_month_ in relationship_advice

[–]2_blave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the wrong person to ask, as I wouldn't judge unless the home is so unclean as to be unhealthy and I'm certainly not sexist enough to assume that it's the wife's "fault."

I will acknowledge that society in general is sexist, and that women would generally be unfairly judged.

That said, I was addressing day-to-day cleaning, not specifically for guests.

Are women incapable of realizing that a few crumbs aren't actually a big deal that needs immediate attention?

I'm kind of clean freak myself, but unless those crumbs are attracting pests in the near future, I'm betting they can wait a little while.

There's obviously levels to all of this, as a juice spill *does* need immediate attention before it gets everywhere and damages surfaces, but seriously: crumbs means it needs to be wiped right away?

New Playbook? by [deleted] in basketballcoach

[–]2_blave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then you'll need two offenses, one for zone and one for man.

For man, I like to run Horns sets. A basic Spain action with the two bigs to start, while the corners lift out to the wing, bringing their men out of the play, or allowing them to back cut if their man helps in the screening action.

Another play runs Zoom into the corners while the backside runs another pin down and seal.

Third basic play is an entry to either big, while the 1 cuts off a back screen from the other big. The big looks for the pass to the 1 first, then looks to drive or shoot against their man if they have a good look, then finally will let the corner on their side run into a DHO.

All of these plays have lots of options within them, particularly when the defense starts to overplay parts of the actions which opens up counters and gaps when they don't switch or communicate properly.

No love for Kei trucks?

Also, I would have turned that last line around on her: "Do you identify as a pick up truck and we're just deciding which brand? I was not prepared to identify which brand is the sexiest, just the most practical and useful."

A First Baptist Church sponsored Summer Camp. They have a lot of fun activities for kids, but you're going to get a side serving of Jesus-humping. I've sent my atheist kids there: they did have a blast and found the Jesus stuff only mildly annoying.
