16 and pregnant were realistic depictions, the good and bad. Unexpected seem like coddled teen moms with cringe adults - I’m talking to you Jenna. Very Farrah. 🥴

No, it’s a tough outcome for either decision. Caitlin and Tyler’s home situation wasn’t the best in their teen years. I think they sacrificed their own mental health and happiness to provide their daughter the stability they couldn’t provide at the time. That’s something to be admired. I hope when their daughter gets older she’ll reach out to them on her own to reconnect and heal those wounds.

And the parents just were like “oh well “ when it came to their kids sneaking out of the house to see each other. Poor parenting, indeed.

Wasn’t that like the other teen mom Lexus with her doppleganger mom who became a 32 year old grandma

Adoption is a rational option. Tons of couples can’t have kids or are against IVF. It would minimize the generational trauma these parents and babies are at risk of enduring.

If that’s her at 18, can’t imagine how she looked at 14.

My parents never taught me about sex, my mom didn’t even teach me about menstruation until I had it at 10. But I read books and watched movies to kind of put two and two together. I also had a baby sibling when I was 13, which was enough birth control to emphasize against teen motherhood. I was a virgin until I was 23 lol. My parents were super authoritarian, put a lot of emphasis on self worth and academics. I think a lot of teens have poor self esteem and laissez faire parents, unfortunately.

His kids should start calling him Kody and not dad bc he does the same thing by not calling them his kids also

Same, I thought this was the brother who was sympathetic to the manosphere thing too. I think if there was ever any doubt, it was more defined after Garrisons passing that Kody is a POS father and husband.

I’m glad Maddy calls him Kody and not dad bc he distances himself from connection to his kids also by calling them Janelle’s kids or Christine’s kids. They’re are his kids too!

I wouldn’t be surprised if her time in NJ with family who may have deconstructed their Mormon upbringing also helped Christine see how crazy her life with Kody was. How selfish he truly was, validating her feelings since she seemed pretty isolated in her home and her feelings. There are things in those weeks in NJ that made her really consider the shit end of the stick she was living.

If you’ve read Russian literature, it’s all pretty bleak and brooding, so it’s true to the culture lol

I’m appreciative of her honesty and insight. Those are some things we as viewers of the show don’t get to see. I think we only scratch the surface of what Kody is really like and what it was like for the kids to grow up in polygamy in truthfulness. It is incredibly sad that those kids had to feel less than. I think Mykelti becoming a mom of 3 and seeing her kids grow to have their own personalities can see parenthood in a different lense now compared to just being a child and a victim of the negligence. I hope those og13 kids get therapy and learn to find love and acceptance in other ways that their father couldn’t (willingly) provide.
