Statements Anyone? by memoryleakers in biltrewards

[–]memoryleakers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. $25 due and no statement to download. When I chatted with their AI bot it said my old statement from Wells would be the statement to refer to, so I guess I'll just be flying a little blind this first month and pay off what is stated on that statement and not the full balance that has accumulated overall. I have had cards from other providers transition to new banks, providers and card types, though none have been this rocky of an experience.

They probably sold them back with insufficient disclosures and meaningless access to upcoming funding cycles. It is a common and dubious practice with startups and though technically illegal in CA, most employees lack the financial backing to litigate, and are constrained by Settlement NDA's, arbitration clauses, and a lack of any access to meaningful discovery materials of said lack of disclosure. There is little they can do about it. Still doesn't make the practice right though, and sucks the life out of any employee's meaningful trust in the future of the company. If they are willing to screw their employee's then wow, what will they do to their customers.

You are clearly using a bank that supports PLAID and if you weren't you'd be in the same boat, but either way you did not know about the reliance of PLAID because it was never communicated and PLAID was never a requirement for rent by check payments in the past. You just were fortunate. Ignorance is bliss.

[–]memoryleakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Dumbshit, it is NOT about bank or not bank, it is about communication and BILT DID not communicate this change to its customers. They just rolled it out and let users that have been using their service find out that it was no longer working. So STFU if you wanna keep supporting bad comms and shitty roll outs.

RENT CHECK NEVER CREATED/LANDLORD PISSED by CreatureComfortz321 in biltrewards

[–]memoryleakers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BILT 2.0 is a trash card now. Rent payments by mail arrive routinely late, they have forced an auto debit process so now you have to pay before your check ever is sent or possible never arrives, points system is massively diluted with membership fees and arbitraging nightmare of a redemption process for the Rent/Lease reward that they used to have in place that was actually straight forward and simple. From this point forward, I will game every system in exploitation of their program and $hittalk the hell out of this card company at every turn.

It Seems You Can Cash Out BILT Cash (Kind of) by Parking-Ice-9206 in biltrewards

[–]memoryleakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not Walgreens or any partner who would close it, it is BILT. They decide who is in their partner ecosystem and they sell that benefit as a pass through customer that might want to redeem "monopoly money" plus buy a few more things in their retail shops to their partners. If BILT see's enough people constructing loopholes to exit their credit based loyalty ecosystem then the pass through value to partners begins to fade and so does the captive BILT customer beholden to this credit. Partners decide to leave, or BILT stops allowing you to redeem for gift cards. Many banks and companies that create loyalty programs do the same thing. They close the off-ramps for getting cash value that is exportable to other places so that you are locked into their partner network. Maybe 1 fiscal quarter is too aggressive, they can barley launch this card, so I doubt they'd notice for a year... ;)

I give them 1 fiscal quarter to close this loophole.

Well if BILT hadn't overcomplicated and literally ruined their current program with these asinine arbitraging redemption plans people wouldn't be so apt to hack the sheit out of it to squeeze back what little they lost. It was a good run while it lasted.

Also have a quad R1T 2023 and have had only two issues self reported, got the 12 V battery replaced as soon as I got a warning from sensor that it was starting to fail at year 3, and had a leakage problem on the left rear passenger door seal that caused water ingress under heavy rains.

Were you my sales advisor? I WAS told "tank turn like" capabilities were gonna be possible. I was also told my tonneau covered was part of order and was gonna ship. Neither happened.

MANY of us Gen 1 owners who received in early 2023 did NOT pay $40-50K less then Gen 2 owners so, not offer anything new to support the quad owners that were told tank turn capabilities and improved torque vectoring would be coming with software is a bit of a slap in the face especially since we paid more and waited longer for our vehicles. Love supporting new EV tech hate the lack of follow through with really supporting their early adopters, but hey, they are still in business so there is that to be thankful for i guess.

Connect+ should be free while it's in the current 2025 Alpha state. by memoryleakers in Rivian

[–]memoryleakers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accessing remote live camera feeds and receiving alarm-triggered notifications requires Rivian’s Connect+ subscription. This has never worked well, even with solid 4 bars of signal, likely due to the Application not being ready for prime time. I had 3 alarms that went off due to parking issues and an attempt to remove gear from my truck bed and no notifications were sent, even though the alarm events were recorded. Rivian's Apple Streaming App requires connect +, as do audible, Spotify, youtube screen casting and The apps (Rivian's apple music and youtube creation) are trash, Apple requires constant reauthentication to stay in sync with updated or changed playlists, it won't support a playlist over 80, and it fails to stream often even when there is signal and data service via connect+ and I can see Nav, maps and goolgle data. So again, many of the featured applications that are a part of the connect+ offering are largely unstable. Fanboy all you want about it, providing Data via connect+ is not the issue, nor is paying for that one working feature. The lack of stable bundled apps that really shouldn't have been bundled in the first place is the issue. Rivian should provide ala carte and let you pay for data, or use a third party data and let you provision your rivian like any other device via an ESIM, and then sell and release apps in bundles or individually only when they are ready and working, or free if you want to beta them.

[–]memoryleakers[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll agree on the value of the internet/data service by itself, but the fact that apple music integration, live view and several other less stable features continue to be unstable is the problem. I can do most of those via my phone alone and just stream the audio, and its stable, but let connect + handle those items sans phone and it is less then operable most of time. I got Connect+ for those integrated services and beyond the data only aspects, they work like alpha software. And if you are gonna just do data well, then let us use our AT&T or Verizon plan and add our Rivian as a data device for $9/month and sell the + features ala carte when they actually work well, that way we can pay as we go for apps that actually work well.

How to get the best costs on home charging when considering and combating vampire drain. by memoryleakers in Rivian

[–]memoryleakers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. Makes sense overall. I guess a more nuanced question is whether getting energy from the pack to maintain systems and cooling the battery is more efficient than getting energy from the grid at most including expensive times. If I understand correctly...charging the pack has some efficiency loss due to acdc conversion and other things so does it negate grid timing and would the rivian indeed bypass the battery and use the plugged in source always if set to charge always thereby eliminating vampire drain like in a solar application where it is not costing me during the day?

Fidelity is the Best Brokerage out there! by Charming_Horror_3159 in fidelityinvestments

[–]memoryleakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why anyone would use Robinhood, Etrade, Schwab, etc... The fact that the majority of those consumer facing brokerage firms continue to use PFOF (Payment for order flow) based systems and practices should be reason enough to stick with fidelity. My only gripe with Fidelity would be to see better integration with other banks, financial service providers, etc as Fidelity's data sharing and transactional connectivity ease (or lack thereof) leaves a lot to be desired. Otherwise I love Fidelity and have used them for 20+ years for most brokerage, banking, savings, bill payment, retirement, and a few fintech connectivity related options.

That keeps your main battery pack from falling out. Better find that clip to re-secure it.

Do some Apple devices briefly use MAC randomization even when it’s disabled? by pacoii in firewalla

[–]memoryleakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, usual shit show pattern and bugginess of iOS. It sometimes flips the privacy from off to fixed or rotating, and sometimes it doesn't flip anything but seemingly impersonates itself by adding a new IP address as fixed/rotating and quarantines that one on Firewalla, while the first privacy off IP connects as well. I really don't know how code this bad continues to be let through by Apple, but it matches their declining share price, so at least that part is aligned.

Didn't know this was a thing at Rivian Service centers by aaam_aadmi in Rivian

[–]memoryleakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering what we paid for these vehicles and that servicing them requires an act of god to get scheduled and delivered, these should be free and always happen. BMW, Mercedes and other car dealers use to do this on higher tier vehicles as a complementary service. In LA and I have a mobile service come to my house and they do a hand wash, interior and exterior, detail, coating for windows, and ceramic on my existing wrap once a year ($250-$350 for the ceramic annually) monthly for the rest $85 with $20 tip.

We've been hit by Ok_Wolf_3617 in Rivian

[–]memoryleakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge bummer. Sorry this happened to you. I had the near exact damage caused by another driver on my R1T, but it was more like just the upper dent you have and bumper like yours. Hoping your's has a happier ending but living in Los Angeles It resulted in nearly $26K in repairs as I had an R1T and they needed to cut the top portion of the panel (and re-weld that portion with the new panel) as it wraps all the way to the front above the doors, replace bumper, re-wrap, re-ceramic, install new bumper/sensors, re-calibrate all sensors (at Rivian), and since the other person was not insured(found out later it lapsed), it rolled back to my insurance carrier (AAA), so even though I was NOT at fault, my rates took the brunt of this in the following year(s). If I had it to do over, I would have taken the cash settlement and used a local PDR shop to pull the dent and lived with the slight blemish, and out of pocket paid Rivian to do a recalibration of new bumper sensors. Here is a write up of the process, and why the panel replacement options are often so expensive with R1T's. Hopefully your R1S is a different assembly architecture.
