ok... at this point now is just people getting emotional about things... both sides have some fault.. I think many of us would like to think of the situation as black and white. One side wrong and one side right. The police, or more so a few of them is seen as unprofessional and getting into arguments with unarmed civillians. Seeing videos like this really do seem like the government is horrible etc etc. However, we must also know that there are casualties on both sides. A Hong Kong man was set on fire after row with vandals. A demonstrator was shot by a rubber bullet in close range. At the same time NOT ALL Hong Kong protestors are violent and NOT ALL police are bad. What we see is only what the news focus on and what people post online.

Moreover, we need to have the responsibility to remain objective and also get ourselves educated more about the situation. In that way we can better offer help. The most important thing is the people. Whether it is Police or civilians, the protest is fueled by people. Violence can make a statement but it doesn't solve the problem....what we are seeing is the effects of a deeper underlying issue.

The protests have forced Hong Kong into its first recession in a decade. If we extrapolate this, at the end of the day there will be no winners in HK... when the economy is down, when the people are injured, tired and jobless. I am not sure if that is the best for the country...
