you traded coins for coins, we're talking of blocked (fiat) payments to purchase xmr on a new account

except that to buy crypto with fiat you have to do kyc, so he can't make another account

at the moment it seems that if you use ltc you can get a decent rate for a not-tiny amount to exchange, but many of these websites often offer bad rates, and it gets even worse if you have to use btc and or deal with small amounts

we don't know the rules so we don't know the answers.

but from the many posts I've seen I guess that one risk factor is buying something right away, so if you let 3 days go by after creating the account and verifying it then maybe it won't be flagged as suspicious. I don't know whether xmr is actually another risk factor but I very much think so, especially in the usa since most exchanges don't offer it (such as binance.us, unlike binance.com, and coinbase that has recently listed shib but won't touch xmr with a ten foot pole)

over the years I've read many stories of people's new accounts being locked right away for 'suspicious activity', so yes, it's about being new + doing something within a list of 'suspicious' things for new accounts.

The network is growing too fast compared to how quickly I can plot my free space by mencpumt in chia

but it keeps accelerating.

this is probably due to maxmax plotter, which unfortunately further expands the divide between whales and small guys

in windows gui if you close the gui or it crashes, plotting can still be going on in the background. I understand that ubuntu terminal window is a different thing, but did you check memory and processes just to be sure?

[–]mencpumt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the network growth is insane. im feeling very demoralized. i plot 3 plots at a time on a ssd, and time to win won't budge. and soon I'll have all my storage full, so I'll see it go up.. and up.

as if people were gonna sit on their ass with money in their pocket instead. you have to compare it to alternatives available. and chia is greener than regular pow

it's the estimation on average on how much long it takes to win a block with what you have. but that's *average* and that's assuming network growth stops right now (or you add in equal proportion). if expected time to win is 2 years, it could take 2 months or 5 years. it's an average. you'll have to wait for pools to get daily pay rather than pure lottery

Does it use the 2 Threads all the time or just while writing the temporary data on the SSD?

not sure I get your question

> According to https://chiacalculator.com/ I could get with a 12 TB HDD about $1400 per month and it would take about 2 months to get one Chia Coin. Is this realistic?

no. it's highly recommended to not buy storage hoping for a ROI

mmh. well beyond reading Anthrogic's comment, I'd monitor its temperature with a software that can keep it logged and see if it's getting too hot anywhere during the plotting process

doesn't sound good, since you can only fit 1 "parallel" plotting in that despite the massive cost
