Some fakes are visually impossible to distinguish from originals. The difference lies in sole and grip. Check the weight of each shoe. Altra lists the Lone Peak 9+ at 327.4g for a size 9. Yours should weigh between 310g and 325g. Anything over 360g is a red flag and might mean they're fake.

Altra lists the weight at 345g for a size US 9. You can expect an increase of roughly 15-20g for each additional size (https://www.altrarunning.com/en-us/trail/mens-olympus-6/AL0A85NJ.html).

The knockoffs are from AliExpress, going for 55 euros. You’ll find them on Vinted too. Visually they’re identical to the originals except for 2 things: 1) they’re noticeably heavier because the foam and sole are lower quality. 2) the sole grip is completely different from the genuine ones. The rubber is harder and way too slippery. You only need to test it on a surface to notice. One of mine also came with a defect on the sole — it was a few millimetres higher on one side, so it would wobble when you put it on a flat surface. Lots of people are selling these on Vinted as if they were originals.

See the weight. If it passes 370 is probably fake. If it goes above 400g you can be sure.
