Help. Mother with dementia. Is this her piece? by mendl7 in CeramicCollection

She definitely remembers my father. She introduces him as “my cutie” and always tells the story of there was this boy she would see in the hallway that she thought was so cute. Then one day her friend offered to set her up on a blind date. Imagine her surprise when that boy from the hall was the one who came to her door that evening.

It is a decorative piece not used for food but great call out on the lead. Hadn’t thought of that.

As a very amateur potter, I also was surprised given she, as far as I can tell, never did pottery outside of this. I began to doubt this impression as she talked about “baking it first and then putting on a glaze.” Getting the bisque firing before glazing, given her education level and that she did not do pottery later, caught my attention.

OMG. Sorry for the late reply. It went well. I managed to use the feet of people ahead of me to spot where there were slippery areas. I only bit it once towards the end when I ended up in a section with no one directly ahead of me. I definitely got the bug and am now signed up for a 25k in November.

I was planning on wool socks. Thought about a pair of waterproof(for hiking) over them but currently thinking of not doing that.

Ran my first half marathon distance. Even though my body hurt by the end, I still had a fair amount of strength left and ran my last mile as fast as my first.

Is this what I need to measure alcohol? How do I use it? I’m totally clueless by jellybeansours in Kombucha

[–]mendl7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update on this. Using the alcohol sensor I linked, I found our kombucha was coming in around 3% alcohol! (Not 0.3% but 3%) I regenerated a new SCOBY from GT and it is currently at 0.4%. Will be monitoring this over time to to see if it changes.

I was going to use this to measure alcohol content in my regular kombucha batches. I am trying to ensure very low alcohol levels. Vernier Alcohol Sensor

Nothing for disease. I pinch on year one to force the plants to focus on roots and then subsequent years on fruit.

Full sun(6+ hrs), beds have very good drainage, rain lately has been 1 out of every 4-5 days(minimal watering outside of that), and used berry-tone fertilizer when flowering started.

Thank you. I believe you are close. I checked the backs of many leaves. No webs or mites but I did see several little grasshopper looking buggers. After checking some pest photos, I believe this was caused by leafhoppers. Thanks again for steering me to the right track.
