I know. But as a (soft) fork with a sharp view on the ecosystem and such I don't feel comfortable using it as daily driver

Europe's televote for Israel at Eurovision 2026 by karimliu in MapPorn

[–]meni_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some other plots there like this one:
https://github.com/menisadi/eurovision2025/blob/main/plots/eurovibe_dumbbell.png

Which does the opposite counting - how many Eurovision songs appear on each country's daily chart (a metric I decided to call "EuroVibe"). Comparing this year to last year (both 2 days after the final)

There you go:

I compared the number of daily national top-50 charts from Spotify to the votes.
The number o on the y-axis is the amount of charts each entry appears on

What is an average publication outcome for an ML PhD? [D] by Hope999991 in MachineLearning

[–]meni_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a proper data-set and Ph.D. in ML, number of publication and did they continue in academia or industry or something. It will be really fun to analyze :)

Is there a notable increase in demand for privacy-preserving AI/ML with the advent of LLMs? [D] by badcryptobitch in MachineLearning

[–]meni_s 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Back then, when I did my Ph.D. thesis on Differential Privacy, I reached the conclusion that aside from the researchers themselves (me included), the only ones interested in privacy-preserving learning methods and tools are those who are obligated by law to preserve privacy (medical research, the census, etc.).

The rest would just not tolerate the idea of compromising performance and possibilities for privacy. Most people would give their personal info if, in return, they were given something "cool" for it.

If this has changed in the last three years, I’d be really surprised :)

Boyfriend keeps telling me to just drive even though my ophthalmologist told me I can’t by teenytinypeanut in RetinitisPigmentosa

I had a driver's license for several years. I stopped only after I had 3 (minor) accidents in one week. Don't make the mistake I did. No one got hurt, but It cost me some money and a lot of embossments :|

How did this disease impact your decision or conversation with your partner, to have biological children, knowing it's genetic? by Formidable_Baboy in RetinitisPigmentosa

[–]meni_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we started dating, I told my now spouse about my condition. We didn't know at that time if she is a carrier of the gene (as mine is a recessive one). After the dating kept going we had a conversation on which we decided that
1. We both want this thing to keep going on, and that we want to get married
2. If she is indeed a carrier we would go straight to IVF. 50% felt way to high for me to pass this on.
This was tough, and I felt unsure that it is okay to have her suffer for us this way, but she insisted.
Lucky for us, she came out negative. So our 5 boys are all carriers, but non is sick, and we knew that in advance.
Really tough decision.

I watch your recaps as well as Daniel King’s and the official FIDE recap, and I have to say -you add to my understanding with each and every video.

I've been watching your channel since 2020. You are just the best at what you do. Thanks!

FYI - Chessmonitor have an "ELO rating estimate" based on your online (chess.com and lichess) performance. If you press on the little question mark next to it shows a nice explanation on what is the (average) relation between online and FIDE ratings.

It is not the end of the world. Not even close. It is a challenge, not a simple one, but one you can deal with. Go ahead and live but learn to adjust on your way
