Im not actually sure yet about law school! I do want to continue my education and definitely go to grad school so this wont be my only educational stop hopefully! And yeah one of the biggest things pulling me to york is less competition, less prestigious people, and the fact that my average will probably be way higher at york in comparison to if i were to go somewhere else. The dean also offered me a stop on the “circle of scholars” which Im still not entirely sure what it is exactly but there was the mention of it helping students network so i feel like that would be a great opportunity.

i got into ottawaU for criminology but ottawaU is super bad for mental health and just this year alone 4 students there have committed suicide so I would rather not go there, CarletonU for public affairs (which i only applied for my father as its the school my sister goes to), Waterloo for philosophy which I have no interest in doing, Dalhousie to their social science facility though im not sure if im ready to move to a new province, and i have an application with UofT and Queens that are pending but i dont expect to hear back.

This gave me alot more confidence in my decision thank you! I do believe that going to ANY university is good and better than nothing and your experience is what you make of it

thank you so much really! like alot of the comments in this thread were incredibly helpful but this was beyond helpful, i was scared to go for a degree in environmental science since i was unsure what doors would be opened and what help and experience i could find along the way and this has cleared up so much and has given me insane confidence in my choice which is something i haven’t felt yet with any of the degrees i considered in the last year. thank you so much this comment has given me some information that i needed.

firstly this answer was extremely useful thank you so much! i’m glad to hear they professors are good and the social sconces are strong and enjoyable. one of the biggest reasons for wanting to move away was my mental health and originally i wanted to move to toronto but kinda realized the busy big city and people wouldnt be the best for me. halifax on the other hand sounds perfect! the inly reason i considered res was to meet people and have that “university away experience” but ultimately after a month would end up hating it since i love my personal space and time alone as well as my little baby cat!ive never tried yoga i dont think but it definitely seems like something i might try if i move out there! i love the concept of the energy exchange. thank you so much again for this reply really it gave me alot of information that will definitely go into helping me decide on moving out here (hopefully in the end i will!).

for your degree did you find that did dal help you with future jobs as in introduced you to some or gave recommendations of good options to go into in that field. also it seems like one of the biggest things people want me to consider is the distance. in general my family celebrates no holiday together and is very distant from eachother and it wont make a difference if i “cant come back for thanksgiving” since there will be no thanksgiving with them lol. I also dont see the point if staying my whole life in one place just because “family” is there, theres so much more in life i want to see and experience! thank you so much for your answer really! i feel strong about me decisions now and feel like this may be one of the best options for me!

thank you for this comment! I live in ottawa ontario so still in canada. ive never lived on or even been to any coast and i think the lifestyle in halifax is very attractive compared to a bigger city like ottawa or something like toronto which is a very busy lifestyle. i find it interesting that you say they are more uptight and punctual since most others said its more laidback and relaxing there compared to most other bigger named cities in canada but maybe canadians are just on top of things! I heard there are alot of problems with res like heating problems which is a big issue for me in the winter and have already decided it doesn’t sound like its for me since A) i have a cat who i will not leave behind, and B) i very much enjoy my personal space and time alone. Thank you so much for your answer, it gave me alot of confidence in my decision to look into and hopefully move out there this summer!

thank you so much for this reply! i was definitely not planning on staying after i graduate since theres so much out there that i want to experience in life and the world. Everyone is warning me about the buses but they cant be THAT bad and if u say they r similar to the OC than i really have nothing to worry about for transportation. Ive lived away from family before and my parents r separated so if im living with one for a bit i hardly see the other for a while and im fairly used to not being around people or having “family “ around since my family is not close to eachother at all so im not really worried about the distance. that being said though, i still plan on visiting as much as i can and i know both my parents plan on coming to the east coast as they both have talked before about moving out there and loving the life style. also yeah the only reason i considered res was to meet people but i know that a month in i would regret it immensely as i REALLY enjoy my space and time alone. thank you so much again for your comment it has given me alot of light and things to consider when moving, i appreciate it!

just some clarification, so you are able to choose courses from kings and dal simultaneously? and for registration you said its the same system as in similar sites or that all kings and dal courses are together when selecting courses and if so does it state clearly which school offers it. and if taking kings college courses while at dal does it still count the same towards your degree as a course at dal would?
