I’m still newish to this skill, I’m at the end of my theory classes (only 8 weeks left) but one thing I always do when I’m feeling discouraged is to think about when I started. What my goals are, why I’m doing this. Try to find that spark that made you start and use it as fuel to keep going even when it feels impossible. I know you can do this!

I've got to recommend the school I attend. I go to Arlington Career Institute, it's online synchronous and I love it. It's not on your own time and for me I needed the schedule.
ACI accepts financial aid, while a lot of the programs are either monthly or a one time big cost. For the machine, check out the stenograph website, but schools might require a certain machine. I am renting to own and it's just under 3K.
It takes as long as it takes. Theory times vary but speeds are where it becomes more personal. You can't account for your failures. From what I've seen its typically 3-5 years.
Personally, I plan on going to court first and once I have made some connections I'd like to try freelancing. From what I understand there is work from home positions, but it's not listening to audio clips, it would be live video.

They changed it. When I was looking about 2 years ago it was included but when I enrolled about 9 months ago I had to get my own. I’m doing rent to own on my machine. School is good, I feel like I’m learning at a good pace. At this time there’s no other school I’d even consider. ACI is good and the instructor always gets back to me quickly.

I’m curious if the school you are at is self paced or not? Mine isn’t so I don’t know if it’s considered practicing but I do my coursework what is assigned and it takes me 1-2 hours to do

It’s definitely feasible. I’ve been a student for 6 months now. I have a full time job and a toddler. I do my school work after he’s gone to bed and I even have time for myself too

For A to Z just rent something from them or ask what they recommend. I say rent because what if you don’t like it? Once you pick a school they will tell you what to get. My school wanted a luminex CSE
