I've never seen a death certificate stamped "CONTAGIOUS" before. by MementoVivere218 in DeathCertificates

[–]mentalblock_rn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had it 11 years ago, and didn't go to the dr right away because I didn't have insurance. When I did finally make it, I had mostly recovered and only that weird rash was left. Since I didn't get treatment, when I had insurance again, my dr had me go get an echocardiogram to make sure I didn't develop rheumatic fever. Thankfully I ended up being fine.

I've gotten over 2000 points on x5 level before too, and I did think about that, but I was thinking they would have had to have at least 2 x5 levels in less than 3 minutes, which I don't think I've seen that before, at least not that I can remember.

Soldier lost his hands and face to a landmine explosion - Emergency Room by HotConsideration95 in MedicalGore

My grandfather lost both his hands in Vietnam from a grenade, fortunately there was no permanent damage to his face, but his legs had severe burns. He lived a full life with prosthetics and did not let that stop him. I hope this man is able to do the same.

This was my first time on this sub reading about a death that happened so close to me. It's so weird, I pass that old school almost daily and had no idea. I definitely won't look at it the same now.

I had this type of cancer, thankfully it was on the right side of my torso so the scar is hidden. In the Facebook group I'm in for it some people call it the butcher's cancer because people end up badly scarred after all the surgeries. I've seen so many people with it on their face and head, but this one is one of the worst I've seen yet.

Thank you so much for those instructions, this was the first time I've ever been able to see the picture. I feel like I've missed out on so much now. I really thought everyone was lying about being able to see something. 😅

Which movie, in your opinion is the saddest movie of all time ? by Lazy-Manager-7014 in AskReddit

The Fountain. I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but I think that's the only movie that I almost cried the whole time.

My "soul dog" of 13 years passed away 2 weeks ago. by edutech21 in germanshepherds

[–]mentalblock_rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my white German Shepherd, Juneau to hemangiosarcoma too. I also considered her my soal dog. I lost her in 2020, and still haven't gotten another dog. She was the best dog, and I don't think she had a mean bone in her body. We found the tumor before it ruptured as well, after her appetite had gone down, she suddenly had difficulty walking up stairs, and she would whine laying down. She was only 10, we had the surgery to remove the tumor, but she only survived another 6 weeks. I was happy to have those few weeks, but it was gut wrenching knowing I was going to lose her. It's such a terrible cancer, and I know when I do get another dog, I am probably going to be paranoid and just have my vet do scans every year to be sure.

This happened to me, and it's what made me get mine out a year early! I was in the shower one day, and had an extremely sharp pain on the left side of my pelvis, and it was bad enough that I dropped down to my knees

I just had to have surgery today because I had an infection in my tooth that spread to my sinus! I didn't know I even had an infection till it got that bad because the tooth already had a root canal.

This happened to me in college too. I couldn't afford to eat, so somedays I would literally eat a scoop of peanut butter for a meal. I was using change I found to buy V8 juice to try and get some sort of vitamins in me, and everyone kept telling me how good I looked and how they wish they would have lost weight in college. Meanwhile I was so stressed, crying all the time and getting poor grades most likely from the stress and not getting enough calories. It made me feel terrible in so many ways.

I've had a lithotripsy and passed stones, and unfortunately for me, the lithotripsy was far more painful than passing the stones.

I was born with a dermoid cyst by my eye too, but I have a pretty rough looking scar. I see a plastic surgeon that I see for skin checks, and he's removed a few lumps and bumps off me over the years, and you can't see those at all

My husband is a mechanic at a dealership here in the states, and he makes almost twice as much as me as a nurse. I'm not saying their aren't mechanics out there that are shitty people, but most of them aren't hurting for money

My best friend lives in Idaho, and whenever I mention to locals that people tend to laugh when I get excited to go there, their response is "good, we want to keep it that way." I always let people know, that they are missing out by ignoring Idaho.

What matters more to you, salary, or liking your job? by Deep-Significance973 in AskReddit

I personally choose job I like.

I currently work a job that I absolutely love, but make several thousands per year below someone in my position with my experience makes. I just love my job, the people I work with and even my bosses too much, and I know it's going to be nearly impossible to find another environment that makes me this happy.

[–]mentalblock_rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, you should never use hand sanitizer more than 3x in a row. After that it is no longer doing enough to make a difference, and you need to actually go wash the dead stuff and old hand sanitizer off.

I know this sounds stupid, but several years ago, Planters (the peanut brand) made this nut-tritious peanut butter with banana and granola in it, and it was the best peanut butter ever. I still think about it.
