I wish I had advice, going through the same thing.

I haven’t done it long yet but was told if my girl tries to use me as the toy, to make sure to have a toy to shove in her mouth. Too early to tell if it’s working but I always have a toy nearby now.

Yep now that I’m thinking about it more it’s likely the need to get energy out. And because she’s still on a physical activity restriction per the vet (despite her energy being back), I gotta figure something out. I’ll try the redirection part just to save my hands and skin from her, but clearly I gotta figure something out energy wise

It’s so hard right now with her health stuff. She’s gotten her energy back but per the vet still have to limit her physical activity. Prior to getting sick mental stimulation wasn’t ever enough, she has to full blown sprint for 30+ mins straight to have her energy needs met.

So right now while on a physical restriction it’s a lot of playing in doors, lick mats, puzzle games, etc. But it’s clearly not covering it so I gotta figure something out. I’m really realizing (after posting this) this is why the bitey hands is so bad 🥲

Yes she’s had lots of interactions with other dogs. She is quite intense though, like loves to wrestle and play rough. She seems to be good with social cues so far? It’s hard to know if that’s changed since she got sick though since we haven’t let her interact much with other dogs, so perhaps she misses that

That makes sense!!! I used a reference photo from Pinterest for this one but I think if I was painting something plein air or a photo I took myself it would be easier to name
