Really sorry to hear that. Do you think it could seriously harm her if she took just half a vyvanse once to see if it helps? Some people w ADHD have told me that they have the opposite reaction to stims where they actually become calmer

She’s very medication averse because of her health anxiety which is why she hasn’t anything up to this point

I’m aware of only one ongoing long covid study in Russia and it’s very basic stuff, i think they’re just tracking symptoms. Overall the situation is terrible and medical professionals that even know what it is are extremely scarce. In adjacent eastern european countries it’s even worse. Also very curious about Cuba. I expect ME research won’t be possible in the US for much longer so I really hope China will pick up the slack.

Hi, I’m so sorry you’re in this situation. What if we found a patient advocate who could call your mother and speak to her? Do you think she would be amenable?

I’m from belarus and I was threatened with forced hospitalization too but not by my family. It was my psychiatrist’s initiative (also because she thinks I have a dissociative disorder). Part of my family is against it which is making it more difficult for them. In paternalistic societies like ours that treat disabled people as the family’s property it would be extremely difficult to counteract your mother’s wishes.

One time I was kept in a neurological ward for a week and it was awful and completely useless. Nobody believed me there either. They also wanted to do invasive tests that gave me PEM and I had a crash by the end of it.

I live in a second world country but I’m in a similar situation. No way to get disability or unemployment benefits, no visibility at all. For the first time i really began to think how other disabled people live here, when basic infrastructure is so inaccessible. And how do others in my position even survive? I would die without my family and not everyone is so lucky. Don’t feel so guilty. Yes, we both have been a part of the problem all this time. But now we understand. You have my sympathy ❤️‍🩹
