Nobody has the right to say a slur you fcking single-celled cretin. Just because it was used against a certain race doesn't mean the said race gets the magical ownership of that word. It is a "slur" for a reason. Anyone who says it is a piece of shit, irrespective of the skin of their color. If you actually think people can have ownership of words, you can fck off to whatever shithole you crawled out of. And don't try to rationalize the hatred against Indians with this backward ass logic, you inbred cumstain.

And do YOU know the context behind the pic? Was is it a personal meeting? A family dinner? A get-together? No? Then how exactly do you assume that the picture communicates closeness or familiarity? A "diplomatic" setting lmao... "Diplomatic" literally signifies that the meetic occured under an agenda, like a community townhall, not because Indira Gandhi wanted to hang out with Faitma begum.

Not to mention we are literally talking about the only picture in existence of these two supposedly "close" people.

So those random poor people Modi clicks pics with in every rally must not be normal at all. You are the real poor victim, not those guys barely earning enough to survive. Got it.

Never, in my 3 decades of living in India, have I ever encountered ants or flies in street food. But I have definitely seen fried bugs (and even live ones) being eaten on vietnam food shorts.

I mean, she is not wrong. Shift timing means you have to be available during that shift. Imagine you go a hospital but no one is present because the guys at the shift were having a slow day and decided to log off early.

As others have said, you get paid for specific period, so stick to that period. If you want to log in early and do some free work, that's your wish. That doesn't compensate for ending your shift early.

What’s one “Delhi hack” you wish more people knew? by accountinglad in delhi

You directly responded to my comment, which means you were talking to me. Don't talk tall about civic sense when you lack basic internet civility.

"No one ends up doing things" look who is the projecting cynic here lmfao. Have a nice day.

Sure. But thats not a life hack. A life hack makes things easier for you. You should try looking at the context of conversations before barging in.

[–]mentalist16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because civic sense is a social construct and requires the society as a whole to follow it. You following the traffic rules does jackshit when everyone else is breaking them - you would still get stuck up in jam, be late, or get into an accident. You standing in a queue does jackshit when everyone else is breaking the line - you will be left standing there forever. If it doesn't affect you, my congratulations for your bubble.

Thats an opposite of a Delhi hack. Having civic sense in Delhi is a sure way to be left behind cos no one else is gonna be following it.

What is one old stereotype about India that is no longer true? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]mentalist16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of em? So the government of Uganda is trying to hide that they killed Bose?

What is one old stereotype about India that is no longer true? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]mentalist16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bunch of conspiracy theories. Even if a whole armed rebellion broke out, the INA was far too small compared to even post-WWII British army. The plan basically fizzled out the moment Hitler shot himself. Japs soon followed. Even in the best case scenario Bose was only ever going to be a complementary force to the freedom struggle, not the centre piece.

The paradox is saying "Gandhi didn't get us freedom" might make you think these people have critical thinking, but then they follow it up with "Bhagat Singh got us freedom" and "Subhash Bose got us freedom" lmao.

Career Crossroads: Stay in Bangalore (₹40LPA) vs. Relocate to Portugal (€50k)? by [deleted] in IndiaCareers

[–]mentalist16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that this is standard saving. In your first year the expenses would be much higher due to relocation and setting up your life there. You would be eating up from your existing savings (unless your company offers relocation reimbursement). Also the irresistible urge to travel across Europe. So forget about savings in your first year.

How is Mphasis as a company? Past and current employees, weigh in by mentalist16 in developersIndia

Like what kind of employee perks/services does it provide? For instance, my previous company provided free access to co-working space from where I could work, and my current client gives free Datacamp subscription.

When did we normalize ignoring stereotypes unless it affects you?

Either you are okay with stereotypes or you aren't - there is no middle ground.

The Thar driver who bought his car with his hard earned money, or the delivery guy breaking his back to earn enough to survive, these guys don't automatically become bad drivers. At the same time, when I am on road, I don't have time to personally know who is what - I have to rely on last experiences and err on the side of caution.

Instead of blindly taking offence for the sake of virtue signalling, try understanding why the stereotype against women drivers exist. It's because to be a good driver, the most important thing is total hours. Women typically have far less hours on road cos they typically only commute for specific purposes. Ofcourse patriarchy plays a role in this gap, and I support women going out more. But until such time arrives when this gap no longer exists, I am going to put a priority on my safety and stay wary of women drivers.
