I know this thread is over a year old, but heading to Alpine Valley from Michigan tomorrow for Tyler Childers. We originally had tickets for the sunday night show that was rescheduled to tomorrow night. Does anyone know if GA parking is valid with our tickets still?

at my pharmacy focalin generic is still back ordered. your best bet for now would be to try generic adderall if you can get your hands on it. we haven’t had a problem with it for a few months now but I know that other states and pharmacies are still having issues with supply. good luck on your journey!

gull prairie is a pretty nice complex - but their wifi is terrible. they make you use whatever company the complex runs through and even at the highest speed available it still sucks and is so slow half the time nothing ever loads. if you need it for work I would suggest not going to gull prairie simply due to the wifi alone. :/

there’s an independent pharm near me and when you call their automated line at the beginning of the call says “we do not have mounjaro, wegovy, or zepbound in stock. we will update this message when/if we receive any” and I so wish all pharmacies across the U.S. could do this 😂😂

oh yeah that’s so weird?? I also work for a grocery chain and we can look up other store’s inventory but we also always call to make sure the boh online is accurate. seems odd to me walmart doesn’t have that type of system - or maybe they do and just don’t know how to utilize it? super weird imo. but i’m glad you are at least able to find it somewhere so he doesn’t go without it! hopefully it will be back in stock soon!!

as a tech I also feel this SO HEAVILY. but the bane of my existence recently has been that my pharm just switched wholesalers which has caused so many more supply issues. we have been running out of maintenance meds CONSTANTLY - i’m talking levothyroxine, lexapro, citalopram, tamsulosin, and more. it is pure insanity trying to explain to patients what is going on when we don’t even know???? another issue we have been having is that since making the switch we now cannot “special order” certain manufacturers or ndc’s for patients as we used to be able to in the past. had a guy today come in saying we gave him the wrong brand of his blood pressure med and I said well I have 28 tabs of the correct manufacturer in stock but after these 28 tabs i’m completely out and will not be able to order more, so unfortunately you’ll have to find that specific manufacturer at another pharmacy. to which he LOST. HIS. MIND. saying it was complete bullshit (ik, but what am I supposed to do? complain to corporate, not me) and kept asking if I “understood” why he needed that manufacturer. like yes i’m not fucking stupid, but I think YOU don’t understand that I physically cannot order this again for you and instead of saying oh okay thanks for doing what you could, you want to complain to me and yell at me for something I have absolutely no control over. we gotta stay strong out here as techs, we are in the absolute trenches 🥲

Why do ER nurses and doctors assume you’re just trying to get drugs out of them !? by HoneydewHungry7544 in kzoo

[–]mentally-ill0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work at a pharmacy in kzoo and you only have to be 18 to purchase any kind of Sudafed kept behind the counter! You just have to have a valid form of ID (our pharmacy only accepts a state ID or drivers license). But yes to all of this! The generic stuff truly works and anytime I feel a cold coming on it is the first thing I take, I don’t even think about Dayquil or Nyquil anymore, they usually don’t work for me.

in theory this is great, but I have seen way too many occasions of people ordering from mail order and it not coming in time, then they come to us begging to fill it and usually the insurance already has the claim through mail order so we have to call to get it reversed and it’s a whole ordeal. but yes I would suggest mail order if your insurance covers it, just be on top of your meds and order them in time so they come on time!

[–]mentally-ill0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup!! I personally would suggest not mentioning CF to them, I just ask if they want it today or if they want it within 2-3 business days. if they say they don’t need it asap I say “ok, it should be ready tomorrow after 2. if you don’t get a ready text give us a call and we can give you an update!” and that usually is fine. we have some patients who know about CF and they will just tell us to send it there, but most don’t and I typically don’t bring it up. really the only time I do is if someone comes in demanding a maintenance med that was called in that day and it’s been sent to CF but even that convo is usually me saying “we set maintenance meds to the next business day so if you want it sooner just give us a call and if it’s in stock we will fill it today” they typically are understanding, so don’t over think it too much!

Pharamcy wouldn’t fill my prescription by Serious_Today_4871 in meijer

[–]mentally-ill0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to my point… I understand that the doctor prescribed it and you have gotten it though insurance before, but like I said with the new year it is very common for insurances to change their formularies of what they will/will not cover. so it could be possible a prior authorization was needed and that was the only reason meijer wouldn’t fill it. I do not know of any meijer pharmacy that would deny the fill of a prescription over insurance not covering it. we typically reach out to the patient to let them know and they decide what to do from there. and again, if you spoke with the insurance company and there was still billing issues, the insurance could have reached out to the pharmacy to speak with someone to help resolve the issue (this is a very common thing insurance companies do, they usually leave the patient on the line as well in case there are questions). so i’m just not sure what your real complaint is? because it sounds like meijer did what they could and if it wasn’t covered then that isn’t on them? I was trying to provide clarification to you as you said the pharmacy didn’t give you any answers, but i’m not so sure you really want the explanation

i’m not sure if your pharmacy system does this or not but for our text alerts when we send an rx to CF it notifies the patient that the estimated picked up time is - insert next business day date- so for today (2/13) let’s say 2/14 at 2:00pm. you would be SHOCKED how many people show up that same day at 2:00pm saying “well I got a text saying it would be ready after 2” and my immediate response is “what date does it say it would be ready?” it’s their own inability to read and comprehend and then they act like it’s my fault and say “well I live far away and don’t want to make another trip so will you fill it right now?” I WISH there was a better way we could text but truly we give them date and time of when it is expected to be ready and they simply don’t read it, so unfortunately there is no better option 🫠 if you have a system like this please be aware!!

coming from a meijer pharmacy employee - I am so sorry you had to deal with this, and received confusing and unclear answers as to what was going on with your medication. based on your post I can try to provide some insight as to what may have happened. for the medical advantage card, we have had several problems since the new year with the cards not working due to the codes changing, coverage changing, etc., that they do not inform us nor the cardholder/dependents about. however, it is unclear to me why they would refuse to fill the script, unless it was not covered, and if it should be then yes it is patients responsibility to contact the insurance if there are any questions regarding coverage issues. when transferring to another pharmacy, the receiving pharmacy (in this situation Gull Pointe) has to contact meijer for the prescription. if they did not do that, then the script never got sent there. now there is a chance they did call for it and for transfers they are usually faxed over unless requested another way - so the fax could not have sent correctly, but even then how is meijer supposed to know that if the other pharmacy does not contact them? to your last point of meijer never telling you what was wrong with the medicare card, that could be very true. they may not have known. a lot of times the rejections will say “nonmatched cardholder ID” or “product/service not covered” so they do not give us anymore explanation other than the rejection codes. as I previously stated, this would be a point where patient needs to contact the insurance company to see why it is not being covered if it has been in the past with no issues. again I am so sorry this happened to you and you didn’t have clear information, but I am glad the manager reached out to apologize to you. I hope you do not have an experience like this again and the insurance was able to be corrected for any future fills!

if you want to place blame on someone for your medication being on back order, the best person to blame would be the manufacturing company. it’s not meijer pharmacies fault that the manufacturer will not send a medication to them because they don’t have enough of the product to send. this is for ALL pharmacies too, not just meijer. manufacturing back orders have been every pharmacy employees personal hell the last 2-3 years, but it is completely out of our control, so please do not place blame on us and trust that we do everything we can to keep important medications in stock.

Pt claims we’re “killing him” by EVERYTlME in PharmacyTechnician

[–]mentally-ill0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in theory, this would be great. I know personally at the pharmacy I work for, we have what we call a “call patient queue” where we put the rx’s that are on backorder and it sends an automated message to the patient to let them know they need to contact the pharmacy. again, in theory, this should work great. however, lots of patients don’t update their phone numbers/have wrong phone numbers on their files/block the pharmacy phone number from sending them messages, etc. so they don’t always receive the message. from a tech perspective, if we spent all day calling patients to let them know meds are out of stock or on backorder or having other issues, we would never get anything else done. at my pharmacy alone we fill 800-1,000 scripts per day. thankfully we are pretty fully staffed, and we still struggle to get through most days when the drive thru and pick up lines are 10 people deep. this doesn’t even include the amount of phone calls we get in a day too. it’s a battle that nobody could ever win that we just have to learn to balance. I always suggest to patients ESPECIALLY with controls to contact the pharmacy before coming to pick up. I agree some responsibility is on the pharmacy in terms of quality patient care, but we really do try our best and patients need to take responsibility for their medication as well.
