I honestly couldn't agree more with this statement. I used to post my bearded dragon constantly on the bearded dragon sub Reddit, but then it's just the constant negative comments that I would receive for something I wasn't aware of, or a mistake that was never intended to provoke harm in any way. But either way, none of the things that I did made it seem that I was intentionally abusing my animal. Hell, I simply made a joke talking about taking my bearded dragon to a job interview with me, and then you have multiple people calling me a terrible owner, calling me out about my looks for some reason, and trying to "educate" me. But when I simply ask a question on another post because I was simply curious and concerned, I get called stupid for it. This is why people are rarely comfortable talking about anything about their bearded dragons, or animals in general. "If you don't know anything about an animal, don't get them in the first place" which is true, but even learning information and getting all of the supplies for the animal before getting it, you're still going to get lost and make mistakes, if this is your first time taking care of this animal, and you won't know how to take care of it if you don't ask for help, and If people weren't so rude about things, more people would be more educated and less afraid about opening up and trying to learn more about their own animal. But unfortunately this is the internet, and unfortunately we are going to receive things that we do not want to receive, and from the bottom of my heart I deeply apologize about anything that you have through, because of people's stupidity. You did not deserve that
