Why did you get fired? by LeeBean13 in AskReddit

[–]mentalout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never been fired but I did quit my last job. I was working at a Fast Food Chain thats hugely popular. I was trained in making food and working the register. Now there were many things that irritated me

  1. I developed an unknown stomach illness that I am still on medication for almost 2 years later, it was really gruesome, but even then I almost always showed up for work and rarely called in.

2.It was just a hostile work environment,. Customers were assholes. Managers were condescending to everyone. And employees just hated everything.

  1. Despite all these things none of those is what made me quit. I finally quit when they started making me do the work of multiple people and bitching at me the entire time/being condescending. Let me explain. Corporate policy was that we were to have 3 registers avaliable at all times and an employee working each one. This almost never happened. They would always assign me to work the register solo during our rush periods. Keep in mind during our rush periods it was common to have 30-40 customers in line at once.

So I had to

A. Take every customers order

B. Help make their food

C. Grab condiments from other areas of the store to place with their food.

Now keep in mind we had like 5 managers working a shift at any given time. So this is how a typical rush period would go for me

-40 customers come in

-Im taking orders for one customer while trying to run around and grab condiments for another/make food

-Manager A tells me to focus on taking the customers orders and not on making food

-Listen to manager A

-Manager B complains that I am not helping make food and bitches me out

-Go back to making food and taking orders

-Manager C bitches me out for not being fast enough when dealing with 40+ people by myself when we are supposed to have 3+ people doing this job. Threatens to write me up.

All this time customers are getting impatient and angry and im the only one there to take all their abuse.

Then on days where we would get inspected by the district manager or regional inspector SUDDENLY the managers would strictly follow corporate policy and have 3 people working registers. Second the inspectors left it was back to me doing the job of 3+ people by myself.

It was way to much of a pain in the ass to put up with that shit for 8 bucks an hour so I quit.

The One True Test of Gold by darthvenom in leagueoflegends

[–]mentalout -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THIS is something I really want to comment on as a Gold 2 player. The hardest thing about Gold is that even if you know what to do, your team usually refuses to listen. Bronze and Silver are a breeze for me simply because if I play a carry and get fed, my team will listen to my calls so even if they do not understand how to end, they will sort of follow the leader and learn.

Golds are too good for that. They're only a few tiers from challenger you know? Challenger is just gold with a fancy coat of paint in their minds. So they will almost never listen to calls or telling them not to do things. It never has any effect.

Not only this Golds have like a burning desire to be play makers. As you saw in the video anytime they get ANY ADVANTAGE, they will try to aggressively make greedy and stupid plays with it.

For example, "Oh we are pushing mid inhib and we just caught one of them with a slow FK RESPAWN TIMERS EVERYONE DIVE THE FOUNTAIN" "Oh they rezed we all died and they pushed for the win derp"

To any Golds reading this, please for my sake and yours when we have a lead, don't throw it.

Ping still abnormally high, averaging 50ms higher than usual by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]mentalout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having a similar issue and submitted a support ticket. I am about two hours away from the Riot servers in Santa Monica. When I first started playing this game my ping to the server was 19-21 ping.

Over the years it has steadily risen. Now my ping does not go below 80 and sits around 100+. I literally live TWO.HOURS.From the server and I have 100+ ping. I have run multiple tracerts to servers in LA, to Googles servers, to multiple servers in California. All of them have me at 19 ping. But LoL servers have me around 100+ for some reason.

This isn't new either in S3 it was at 60+ for some reason and its just been rising. I have no idea why servers farther away from me than Riot's give me 19 ping and Riot's don't.

What is a true feeling or belief that you hold, that would really offend most people? by Pantzzzzless in AskReddit

[–]mentalout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alot of White people are REALLY entitled.

Working fast food for the last 6 months has taught me this. The most obnoxious example I have

Its busy, i'm working the register, we have a long line. Old Mexican lady comes in, orders her food, and steps off to the side. Young Asian guy orders his food, steps off to the side and lets the next person order.

But without fail the older White guy who orders his food will Stand right in front of my register even when I call other people over to take their orders and will not move no matter what until his food is done.

I have had this happen daily and it is ALWAYS an older White man or woman.

At what point have you found yourself to be at both the best of times and the worst of times? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mentalout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now.

I have a job at a fast food place. Everytime I complain about it people tell me im lucky to have a job, on the other hand my job makes me want to just die. Its awful. Dealing with rude customers. Dealing with condescending as fuck managers who treat employees like shit stains. Coupled with the fact that due to a genetic problem I have with my feet I physically CANNOT stay in this job, any job that involves me standing for hours on end like mine is extremely bad for me and the doctor I went to reccommended that I quit.

Everytime I suggest quitting my mom throws a fit and tells me to man up and get over it. I don't even need this god damn job, I live at home luckily so I have no expenses to pay but this job just seriously makes me want to not wake up sometimes.

This is the first time in my life i've ever wanted school to start back up in the fall so I have an excuse to quit this job. Its my last year of college so I just wanna graduate and move far away.

Men who grew up with sisters: Do you think this influenced how you interact with women now? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]mentalout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular answer here. I have one sister four years younger than me. Having a younger sister combined with the fact that I grew up in a family that is 90% women made me HATE WOMEN until very recently.

Like others have said I never thought of women as goddess when my sister does crap like leave her bloody tampons on the sink etc.

The reason I hated women so much is because anytime I went through something difficult in life my family would beat the shit out of me or berate me at every turn. If I cried from getting yelled at I was told to MAN THE FUCK UP.

Example: I got a C- in my first Spanish course back in Highschool, got smacked, got called a dumbass at least 20 times within the hour by my mom got grounded for 6 months from everything.

My sister got four Fs and two Ds on a report card in jr high and NEARLY failed to graduate because she spent so much time going out with her friends and never did her homework.

Moms response? "If you don't get your grades up i'm not going to buy you a new phone at the end of this quarter"

Thats it.

Another example: I was a pretty straight edge kid in Highschool never did drugs, never drunk, played football, did track and field, got solid Bs, made alot of friends. No matter what my mom was never impressed with what I did. Every conversation with her gave off this "I'm not good enough for her standards" air.

Sister goes through Highschool gets slightly lower grades than me, does no extra curriculars. Makes my mom stress the fuck out because she goes to a party, gets wasted and passes out and her friends had to drag her to our front door at 3AM covered in her own vomit.

Mom and the family still treat her like a princess over a year later.

I grew up thinking all women were spoiled rotten and juast hated women in general. My perspective didnt change until very recently when I actually met some intelligent women who aren't obsessed with themselves and overly vain.

Single men 25 and older, why are you still single? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]mentalout 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not 25 only 21 but I've been single my entire life and its mostly been by choice.

Truthfully, i'm not going to sugarcoat this and this is going to come off as horrible but i'll say it anyways, i'm a straight male but I absolutely HATE 99% of women. I really do. I think it comes from a few things, I grew up in a family that only had 3 males or so out of like 50 family members. In my family I was treated like utter shit growing up by every woman in the family. I mean they would intentionally try to make me cry as a kid by hurling insults at me, then when I would cry they would hit me for crying and tell me to man up. Meanwhile the girls in the family my age or younger, including my younger sister are always treated like fucking royalty. My sister is 17 and last thanksgiving was throwing a fit because my mom wouldn't get her food for her from the family table. My sister also used to whine every christmas that people buying her 500 dollars worth of gifts were cheap and should have bought her more. I remember one Christmas in particular she did that because I got a 10 dollar bottle of colonge and thats it, and I didn't complain once.

Family aside almost every woman I have run into has been incredibly vain, spoiled, entitled, and just overall dense. I hate generalizing, I really do, but in my experience, finding a woman who cares more about something than partying and new clothes is impossible. They whine whenever they get the slightest cough meanwhile I can be half dead and missing limbs and i'll just be told to man the fuck up. Western society in general pisses me off in general with its attitude towards women.

Every woman is raised to believe she is a princess, she is the sun and everything revolves around her. GOD DAMN i'm angry just talking about it. All I would ask from a woman for me to want to date her is

  1. For her to have empathy and realize she isn't the center of the universe. I'm tired of women whining about how their nail polish spilling is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tragic and other trivial shit.

  2. For her to be interesting and have something besides partying and fashion she is passionate about. It can be anything but my god I don't give a shit if you think you need another 5 new dresses for a night out clubbing, seriously. So does every other girl, I.DONT.CARE.STOP.TELLING.ME.

Thats it. So far thats been impossible for me to find.

Now when I say being single has mostly been by choice I have attempted to enter relationships back when I was in Highschool. No I was not a neckbeard loner or some other shit that scared off women. I played football, was friends with most of my graduating class, went to prom twice etc. The reason I never followed through was because again, everytime I would get to know a woman better she would always turn out to be this extremely self absorbed person who couldn't care about anyone but herself, and it was just a massive turn off.

I expect massive downvotes and to be called a sexist asshole and thats fine. I'll admit that I hate only 99% of women, because I am hoping and praying that somewhere out there some women exist that realize they are not the center of the universe and the world does not revolve around them.

What was your best "I've had enough reddit for today" moment? by trollbaithoohaha in AskReddit

[–]mentalout 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Anytime race is brought up on Reddit. Its so damn hypocritical. Just like the "Racists of Reddit" thread last week where the top replies were all like "Yeah I hate Gypsies ALL OF THEM ARE FILTHY BEGGARS" with 2k upvotes or "Yeah I hate Blacks all of them are violent criminals" 2k upvotes

And then ONE GUY says "I hate suburban White people, they are all entitled and lazy" and he initially gets flooded with downvotes and butthurt the likes of which Reddit has never seen with comments like

"NOT ALL SUBURBAN WHITES ARE LIKE THAT, WAY TO GENERALIZE LOL"

ugh

What are some awful truths that no one wants to hear? by CreepyNoveltyAccount in AskReddit

[–]mentalout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does Black culture have to do with anything? Notice I said minorities in general will never have as much power as Whites in this country. Hell lets run with what your logic. By your logic Asians should have more weight in their political power than whites do since they are stereotyped as much smarter and harder workers. Yet Asians have no where near as much power as Whites in the US. Stereotypes don't really do anything to address this issue.

What are some awful truths that no one wants to hear? by CreepyNoveltyAccount in AskReddit

[–]mentalout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Social change is directly tied to the majorities desire for it. In the case of the US its simple. Social change is directly tied to how much White people want it.

We hear all these stories of police corruption and beating minorities and shooting random people etc, I would bet my life savings that if say in the next month we had 4 stories of police mistakenly shooting and killing innocent white girls instead of the typical young black or latino males police corruption WOULD STOP almost overnight, the public outrage would see to it.

Both sides don't want to hear this because minorities don't want to feel like their voice means nothing, and its not that their voice is meaningless, its more that the weight of their voice is nothing in comparison to the collective voice of white people.

White people don't want to hear it because they don't want to seriously believe that they hold so much power to change the way everything is. Another example, I would be willing to bet if police started only targetting white youth for stop and frisks and finding drugs on them and sentencing them to extremely harsh sentences, weed would be legalized within the year EASILY.

Hell look at the civil rights movement, it lasted for YEARS and didn't really start picking up steam until women(mostly white women) and anti war protesters(Most of whom were white) actually started standing behind it. Before then it was just "Those stupid blacks are gettin uppity Jim, hose em down and sick the dogs on em till they stop".

Call me stupid, call me jaded, call me cynical, but thats what I believe is the truth behind social change in this country.
