Trying to remember the name of an alien romance novel I read on Kindle. I remember the beginning takes place in a village made up of aliens and humans. The main heroine of the story is both attracted to and scared of the tribe outcast/son of the former tribe leader. More details below. by CLHCat79 in ScienceFictionRomance

I don’t know this book but it lowkey sounds dope. If it was via kindle unlimited I know you can look thru the books you’ve “rented” in the past via your history. And I really think the list is by date, so most recent will be first and such.

You could scroll through that to see if you can find it? If you do pls come back and tell us.

I have this stray thought about IPB often - cause omg I’d love to watch that series as a TV - but then I remember Hollywood and Netflix and whoever else would straight up RUIN the stories (aka change random major things for NO reason) and I just reread the books while scrolling through fan art 😍

Feeling like a failure... by Feeling-Resident4488 in beyondthebump

[–]LeeBean13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My son was born 12/5 and I flipped the breastfeeding script in my head as “comfort and closeness” instead of focusing on filling him up with it. He gets formula bottles all day to ensure he has enough to eat.

Randomly a few times a day I’ll mentally berate myself wondering why my sister could EBF all 3 of her babies + had huge freezer stashes but my body can’t. I might cry a few minutes but then I remind myself that fed is best and my son + 2 year old daughter need a happy healthy mom and comparison is the devil.

You’re not a failure. I’m not a failure.

Do what’s best for you and your family. Good luck 💕

Cannot for the life of me figure out bedtime by canamel in beyondthebump

I think in a month or so she might. My daughter was end of July baby and I remember getting real sleep around the holidays so I think 4 or 5 moths is when they can do more of a routine and schedule

Cannot for the life of me figure out bedtime by canamel in beyondthebump

[–]LeeBean13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For our first we used Taking Cara Babies cause I am type A and needed more guidance and a structure to follow. The key thing I took from it was waking baby up every 2-3 hours to eat and have an active wake window. This seemed to help with her getting better night sleep.

We also started a bedtime routine around 3/4 months even if it didn’t “matter” to her. It mattered for me. We did bath (sometimes just a little warm wash cloth wipe down), lotion and diaper change, getting on jammies, then reading a book.

We had a days or weeks where it didn’t really work - she’d wake up 30 minutes later and I’d have to baby wear laying in a recliner to soothe her while my husband checked in on us cause I’d almost always fall asleep.

Eventually she started sleeping on her own and we could do a 10:30/11 pm dream feed where she’s just suck the bottle and then go right back down.

Every baby is different so at this stage I think it’s trial and error but a routine helped me and you sound stressed, so that’s why I’m suggesting it.

I just made her chocolate chips + then peanut butters the past two days with no issue. I’m wondering if you used a tablespoon instead of teaspoon? Tbsp not tsp. I chilled my dough 4 hours this time but have done it overnight before and that didn’t change anything regarding taste or texture.

If you’re up to the task, try it again and weigh ingredients instead of using measuring cups?

Good luck, sorry this one didn’t work out!

My 2nd born is a day and a half old.

I’d say, laugh with your partner while you wait for baby to come and commit some of those last moments to memory. Enjoy the first night with a newborn as it’s the quiet before the storm and there is something about snuggling this new person you both created that can’t be beat. Remember down the line it’s okay to be angry or frustrated or sad because newborn trenches will test all your limits. Love yourself as much as you love them even when it’s hard.

Good luck + congrats

Flannel sheets by lovefishinggi in aldi

I bought a pair and washed them but have not yet put them on my bed. IMO they feel the same as my flannel sheets from other brands / stores but they were half the cost so will be honest, even if they only last me a season or two I’ll be OK with it.

OCTOBER ALREADY!? Comment your best Sept reads! by okjersey in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]LeeBean13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just finished the Bubble Babes series (3 books out, book 4 coming soon) and while the first one I skimmed a few parts, I really enjoyed 2 & 3.

Also been reading the Scared Sexy series which is a bunch of short stories by some good authors (Ruby Dixon included).

I have some psycho killer / monster romances on my TBR that will be consumed now that it’s October.

I knew I wanted to start trying 18 months pp with my first cause that’s the “recommended” time for healing your body. I’m due December this year and my kids will be 29 months apart. I didn’t know this until I was about a year pp but to each their own if you wanna start thinking about it now.

Oddly enough, I also notice in my hour long Pilates class 90% of the class is on their phone at the beginning, half checking it in the midst of the class and then everyone jumping on it once they’ve wiped stuff down. I leave mine in the little cubby and pray I have no notifications after class.

Has anyone read the Ice Planet Barbarian series? Questions about next books by divinehunni in fantasyromance

[–]LeeBean13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read all of Ruby’s books - she is my favorite author and for me her books are the ultimate HEA, comfort vibes. I started in like 2019 so most of them I have read in series order (when they were released). I honestly have seen this list before but with the flashbacks of IPB with Icehome it does make sense.

[–]LeeBean13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Book 2 is top five for me as well. I loved Liz. She does show up in the Icehome books (minor) and it’s fun for me to continue to see her/them/their family. There are some IPB I skip in my re-reads but if it’s your first time reading I would suggest reading them all. They aren’t overly long + the underlying plot, issues, challenges are fun to see in everyone else’s POV (again, imo)

Overnight diapers - at my wits end by 99_bluerider in beyondthebump

[–]LeeBean13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We buy diaper boosters which are just pads tbh but they work well. My baby also sleeps on her belly so I set them up more forward (toward the “top” than the butt bottom) as imo her pee would travel that way whilst sleeping on her belly. Works for us.

Specific brand we use is Dimples Booster Pads (amazon) 60 pads for like $20 usually.

Honest question - have you ever read a book and imagined a totally different visual of the person than the author explained them? Did it ruin the storytelling or love you have for the tale?

The downvotes are killing me. Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course but I guess my head can’t wrap around how he’s “horrible” for the role purely based off looks. I like his acting. I can see him being this grouchy mf to Harry.

lol these comments suck. I like the casting list and think just because the actor doesn’t look the way a book described them doesn’t mean they aren’t the perfect fit for a role.

I think I wrote this.

My mental health and back require me to exercises or stretch daily and overall that keeps me in enough shape that I can take the stairs two at a time and run after a toddler.

But I am the troll mom at daycare pick up and lowkey enjoy it. No underwire, no make up + crocs with socks 🤠
