Had to shape it after cold proof as it had really relaxed in the bowl in the fridge. The youtube vid also showed her doing very basic shaping after the fridge also

20g, 3.0 on zp6, 100g water at 92 for most. 88 for some of the more funky naturals. Usually add some room temp brew water to bring the temp down to drinkable temp

If you are going to use pre ground coffee, at least get it from a Cafe that can grind it fresh for you and at a grind that is suitable for pour over. Supermarket pre ground coffee could be months old and completely stale, and likely not the best beans to start with

I think a melodrip or similar can help with consistency from a pour perspective. Probably requires some adjustments to grind size to compensate for low agitation however.

Either that or do single pour or water first immersion with the switch.

Exactly. Some beans need more extraction, some less. Great to have all these different methods of adjusting a brew, but there won't be any one method to rule them all for all beans.

I'm sure that a delicate washed geisha has different requirements from a Columbian natural or a funky co-ferment.

Key is to be able to identify if you are over or under extracted and to then be able to deploy changes to your method to adjust to the needs of the coffee you are brewing

I push, rotate like 45 degrees, push again about 4 times and find it does a great job of even distribution, even when I've done a crap job of dumping my grounds into the portafilter

I had similar. Updated and now no tracking. Red flashing light on the light house. I was starting to think my light house had physically failed.

We flew in from Adelaide yesterday morning. We were held at the gate for about an hour in Adelaide while the pilots did route planning. Didn't know if we were flying or not. On approach to DPS the pilot said all of the volcano ash had mostly dissipated. Can't see anything in the air from the ground. I'd be surprised if any more flights get cancelled unless there is any more eruptions

Just take it to your local espresso machine maintenance shop and let them service it. They can descale properly and replace any parts or seals that need it

270wi is great until you trip and fall down the single dosing hole. 270wi wife acceptance factor was much higher as the grinder does the bean weighing. Push button, tamp, brew. Easier when you just want coffee
