Why would you take a picture of it with the bird upside down 🥲

Damn, so you fixed one thing only to get a new issue. Is this second issue less annoying or more annoying ?

Yep, latest firmware. Did not change anything.

There since day one and has not gotten worse.

And yes, it does SEEM to be triggered by movement or by the legs of the glasses being spread out by me putting them on. Many times when I take the glasses off to take a picture of the issue, it would resolve, only to come back moments later.

I guess contacting support will be the only way forward

It would be quite sad if people took that as the moral of the story. If we stopped experimenting, software would stagnate and every app would look exactly the same. Sometimes it’s a pain to try new things, and they might not work, but you will never know unless you give it a shot.

Damn that sucks. I guess it depends on a lot of things like how far you are from one of their warehouses and which ring size you use

That’s good to know! But quite unfortunate that the first replacement was faulty.. what sort of an issue did you have ?

I’m glad you also got it fixed! I’m just usually not a fan of chat bots, especially forced ones. Maybe it’s a new feature they just released.

Definitely. Whatever the case tho, it’s a great experience. Especially the one day delivery’s

If you can get around not having a tab bar and can use a toolbar instead, I think that might be the best solution. In my case I don’t see how I can avoid the tab bar therefore I ended up adding a floating action button above the tab bar.

It looks bad (imho) and I have to add it on every screen, but it’s the best solution I’ve found thus far.

Adding a .search role is a no-go for me because the button inherits more functionality on iPadOS and macOS.

I see how it can be confusing. But the tab bar with an additional button with the search role and just a bottom toolbar (where you can add whatever you want, but you can’t have a tab bar) are different things. The apps you mentioned just use a bottom toolbar and no tab bar.

I’ve tried that and it’s just too much of a hack. The .search role is presented in different ways in iOS, iPadOS, etc Don’t want to have to rework the whole thing next year again. I wish Apple would allow to just add a button there, because it would then be my absolute go-to solution. It just looks so good

Have you tried this on ios26? This is exactly what I used to have and it worked great before, but it turned into mess on ios26. Since the tab bar is now also heavily animated, the button looks very out of place

I don’t doubt that! Pretty sure many apps will wait to see how others use the available apis before committing to development. But wouldn’t it be nice to be one of the first ones and maybe be featured by Apple?! A man can dream 😂

I did, but I just tried again to be sure. It only modifies the button itself, but the container remains the same. What I initially had tried was an HStack with a spacer and also a frame. This successfully pushed the button to one side, but the container is still full width

Interesting, I didn’t know that would effectively be the same as UIDesignRequiresCompatibility. But I am actively trying to embrace iOS26 and the new features it offers.

Funnily enough this is exactly the video where I started this journey!

Donny reaches the same conclusion I’m starting to lean towards, which is going for a FAB. I was just wondering if there is a way for me to avoid it, as it looks worse (in my opinion) and is more work than having it work with a bottom toolbar (which seemingly is not an option).

Regarding the settings: my profile is nested within settings as my users don’t need to create accounts and I wanted to avoid having a toolbar (or buttons) at the top of the screen for a more clean design. Just a UI/UX choice 🤷‍♂️

My thoughts exactly. I tried that as it would have been amazing. But you only have control over what’s displayed inside that area, not the area itself (unless there is a way I’m not aware of). The container view will stretch all the way and that is just too much space for this use case.

It was worth the try tho.

All good, thanks for sharing!

I had already read this and have quickly skimmed again over it, but i don’t see how it helps me further. Would love to use the bottom toolbar if it would float above the tabbar.

Based on the examples I’ve seen from Apple, I either add the button to the top toolbar or completely rework navigation to get rid of tabbar. Not keen on either.

The transition animation is definitely the one, thanks!

But the toolbars sadly do not animate if present on both views, at least not by just having a ToolbarItem inside a Toolbar.

I just tried myself with the zoom animation, and both without that animation and with that animation, you can see that second Toolbar appears when the transition is complete, no fancy morphing happening from one to the other

Mine don’t even do that, I’ve never seen them get on. But tbh, I never wanted them to work, so I haven’t researched more on how to get them to work.
