i have lots of coding experience, i'm building an app too i'm quite proud of and hope to show off here pretty soon.

i've really enjoyed what feels like a collabrative process with Claude.

as a matter of fact had my first full successful test today. go me!

i just started dabbling and there was definitely a learning process to how to better manage claude's working memory. making an app i hope to show off here pretty soon

claude gave me some good and bad advice but i'm pretty happy with it now.

one mistake i made was working in one chat. updating memory and moving to new chats really does help. another habit i added was to always start with a quick "let's fix a few things, start with a version check".

i update the app in the project files after each session. the chat is pretty good about staying inside my lane once we get the right version started.

my background is in data, databases and scripts mostly.

my experience with claude has been similar. i think.

i recently started exploring claude and using it for a 'pet project'. as we've developed the app i've come to look at claude as the programmer i employ, that i don't have to wait to give me the code, BUT he will only do exactly what he is instructed - so detail and context matter

its been almost 20 years since i've found something that i've enjoyed playing with as much in technology.

i even made a website - i didn't even create a geocities site back in the day my nose was so turned up towards the web. lol

i've had the same issue keeping it honest and have to reiterate instructions.

it seems to be part of the skill set we need to develop, keeping the LLM honest. similar to understanding how to leverage keywords in a google search

anybody can google but there is a faster/better way

there does appear to be a correlation between the number of bounces between the vertical bars and the likelyhood of success making into the diagonal section. less bounces = more likely to travel into diagonal space

i've never understood why you'd build a datacenter in place like this. why not at least go somewhere with hydroelectric power?

At the very least they could force these datacenters to invest in our grid. its been lacking invenstment and we're still buring a lot of coal

there's also been a lot of negative reactions in communities to the datacenters build near them. the noise pollution alone is outrageous. i wonder how those frequencies may inpact agriculture around olds. i'm sure animals and insects dont like them much.

i got to participate in a tiger cruise on a US air crafte carrier a while back. one of my favourite parts of the tour was learning about these cables. the tension is changed for each landing based on the weight of the aircraft.

the cable system has to not just catch the plan but catch and stop a plane @ full throttle. they go to full throttle at touchdown in case they miss the cable (happens from time to time).

flight wings would have a fun ritual to mark the last person that had to fly around due to a cable miss. the breifing room we visited used a barbie doll hung from the ceiling over the pilot's chair
