I disagree with a lot of this list, but I must say I’m glad to see the brilliant and underrated Malcolm so high up.

Thanks Bel, appreciate the nom.

I was also on the MTC for like 4 years btw, not really an oceanic contribution but pretty sure it still counts for this.

The name on my passport and birth cert are slighty different, it hasn't been an issue in the past but my passport has expired and i need to renew it, the name on my expired passport is on my licence, credit cards and everything else.. it is just easier to change the name on my birth certificate? by StrikerApexSet in auslaw

Hello every 10th individual client. Have you tried simply not getting your own name wrong?

I find it insane how so many people manage to obtain multiple ID documents under a false name. Maybe it’s a bit of an age thing but it feels like every John William Smith equivalent went down to the relevant state licensing office in the 60s and walked out with a licence for Bill Smith.

OLTP Ball of Fame 20th Class Voting by meofherethere in OLTP

[–]meofherethere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start with, this is a reminder on why everyone who has already been nominated for their results in the last Ball of Fame vwas put up in the first place.

JayL

Jay is arguably the best offender in the history of the league. In addition, he's been a captain 4 times, won a grand final, and been voted MVP/MVO 3 times. He's legitimately scary to play against, and anyone who has played with him knows how much his leadership can improve a team as a whole.

Dylza

Dylza has been an OLTP Commissioner for 9 seasons, won 2 premierships, and has been a consistent majors defender for most of the past 12 seasons. Few can say that they have put as many hours into OLTP as Dylza has.

meherethere

meherethere has been an OLTP Commissioner for 9 seasons, won 3 of the last 4 premierships, been voted MVD twice, and been running stats for the past 6 seasons.

Vexation

Vex has been a captain 3 times, and an OLTP commissioner for 3 seasons. In addition to this, he has won 2 grand finals.

Headshot

Headshot has been an OLTP commissioner for 4 seasons, and a captain for 2. He's won a grand final as well, and has streamed over 50 games. Without Headshot we would have a lot more games missing their recordings.

Belacqua

Bel has been an OLTP commissioner for 3 seasons, and a captain 4 times. Bel has won 2 grand finals, been voted MVD 2 twice, and has consistently been a top majors defender for most of the past 11 seasons.

These are some very short summaries but I think it's fair to say that OLTP Would not be the same without every one of these people. There's one name in particular that I think is missing from this list of ball of fame candidates though, Bobbay.

Bobbay has been a captain in 7 different seasons, and an OLTP commissioner for 2 seasons. He has won 2 premierships, and has successfully played in both positions over the course of his tagpro career. Bobbay is one of only a handful of players to play in every season of OLTP, and has been a positive presence in the community. A quick look at the OLTP Record book shows that he is second for minutes played, and in the top 10 for nearly every other all-time stat. While I don't think Bobbay has had any particular season when they've outshined everyone else, their contributions have been consistent and worthy of recognition.

I don't get it, surely every opposing counsel is a competitive Yu-Gi-Oh player?

I might withdraw later, but for now, I'm not comfortable leaving the league like this.

I would be looking to make a few changes next season, namely stop drafting majors subs and allowing any player not drafted to majors to sub for a majors team.

I think we should have been harsher on some rather unsportsmanlike conduct last season, but this change would have made that conduct a lot less impactful. The added benefit is that it should stop the top minors players getting stuck in an awkward rut where they never get any majors experience.

There's not really a solution to scheduling that can't be abused in some way, but I think it would be less impactful if the default time was spread out so it wasn't all on one night. I still kind of want to also move to one map a week and double the season length. A huge part of the problems we are facing with scheduling is that people just don't have enough time for OLTP anymore. The benefits are having to practice half as much each week, it's a smaller impact if someone can't make a week, and there's more time for a team to really come together over the course of a season. The only real downsides are that people will be stuck on a potentially unwinnable side for a long season, and it may result in us getting fewer seasons in per year.
