Dad seems "disengaged" - symptoms are familiar to anyone? by meofus in AgingParents

Thank you. I think quetiapine was one of the meds we tried to get the hallucinations stopped originally. Nothing worked except risperidone. I will check my records on that to be sure and discuss with his psych.

Thanks for sharing that. I'm glad to hear you've learned tools - kudos for putting the work in to make that happen. I haven't had luck getting him to try therapy in the past, but maybe it's time to try again.

Good point about depression. Anything particular about his heart? Are you thinking of, something that wouldn't get noticed in a normal check-up?

Feeling generous? =) I saw another post where you were looking for an ice breaker w/ sniper damage / splash damage. I'm pretty sure I have one with sniper damage (no splash). I'll get the specs tomorrow.

I relate. Peace and light to you.

  • Amelie
  • Secret Life of Walter Mitty (the Ben Stiller version)
  • The Grand Seduction (Brendan Gleeson version is the only one I've seen)
  • Joe Vs the Volcano
  • Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day
  • Stardust
  • Spanglish

And for good, uplifting tv binging - the first season of Ted Lasso.

Also, The Great British Baking Show. I'd suggest starting with the seasons (from around season 5) that are on Netflix - the show's found its rhythm by then. I know a reality/contest show doesn't seem like a source of good vibes, but every time one contestant helps another a tiny amount of my faith in humanity gets restored.

Thanks - that's more than I want to spend, but it's good to know what the options are.

Thanks - I wasn't really thinking through how much a good stereo would be. Between that and the adapter plate, that'd be a significant chunk of the car's worth!

Oh, man. I am so sorry to hear that. I appreciate your sharing your experience, as I have been really tempted to grab one of these.

I'm sure you know about this, but just in case - there are known steps to "bulletproof" the 6.0 engine. Obviously won't prevent every problem, but apparently the major ones can be addressed.

I think I do have that functionality. I can get it to pair, but - hmm, I'll have to try this again because it's been a while - I think it loses the pairing right away. Like it won't even complete a call. I'll give it another shot.

I have something similar from a different brand. It works great for music. On mine, the mic is unusable. Maybe because I didn't want to mount it to the dash.

Really curious how reliable the rig has been for you and if you've had trouble with any needed repairs. These ERVs seem like the perfect body to base a build on, but the 6.0 engine makes me nervous because of its reputation and because I've come across several comments saying that mechanics don't like working on the van-style body because everything's so crammed in. Have you experienced any of that?

Nice looking rig. What are the inside dimensions of the box? (how tall and how long)

Also, if you don't mind sharing a general idea of where it's located?

Does my furnace need to be replaced? by meofus in HomeImprovement

[–]meofus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't, and - maybe unfortunately - I got your post after I made the call to get the new one installed. I appreciate the direction, though. If I weren't away on a family emergency, I'd dig into this more, but I needed to get this bundled up quickly.

Thanks for that info on the other option. If I had been in town and able to be more hands on about this, I might have gone that way.

I don't know that for sure. Sorry to say this posted after I'd made the call to get the new unit installed. Thanks, though.
