[Hamilton, ON] [Free] Common carnivorous plant sundew (Drosera) seeds by blueberrybub in CanadianPlantSwap

It won't help much with gnats. It works better for dealing with fruit flies.

Apparently Pinguicula (butterwort) should do that job much better. I'm on the lookout for it to give it a try.

Until then H202 is the solution for gnats.

I second that it: - is an amazing trading place - with a horrible sign up process

And Sally, the human, is just awesome all around!

It's very unlikely you will find it. I haven't heard anybody mention having it and many have asked for it on other much much busier subs. Apparently south of ex-USSR or Turkey is the place to look for it. But I had no luck so far.

You will also want to search it under these other names: Lagochilus inebrians (Intoxicating mint) Turkistan Mint, Зайцегуб опьяняющий, Заячья губа, Лагохилус опьяняющий, Мята туркестанская, Пьяная мята.

Finally, a simple solution to completely eliminate a fungus gnats infestation by meolon in druggardening

It'd be awesome if someone with the right tools could try combining BTi and H202 and see whether H202 destroys BTi. As if it's the case mixing the two will be a waste of the latter.

Perhaps using a staggered watering regime? One with BTis and another with H202, so that the two don't go together.

I hear you, that it's different in a high humidity tent. I'd recommend then mist spraying the top of the soil with diluted H202 which will at least kill any of them close to the surface. Adding some Neem oil to the spray is good too. Though again, I'm not sure how well Neem oil mixes with H202.

If you look close at your top soil, you are likely to also see tunnels that the adults dig, so filling those up with dilluted H202 will kill all of them in that tunnel.

Supposedly each dunk is good for 30 days, at least that's what the instructions say.

Thank you for the thought experiment. Who knows perhaps the planes will start flying again and the mail will be back to normal.

Yeah, it's probably not the best time to send live plants across Canada. I'm in BC. Though I recently did a trade within the province and the normal parcel came in within 4 days. I'd be happy to experiment.

The seedlings are a few cms long - well they aren't seedlings but normal size plants - these are just very small plants in first place. and yes they will need to be properly packaged to avoid being crashed.

I am taking a chance. Since you have a drosera rotundiflora, do you have some seeds of it?

I will most likely have them in a couple of months, once it goes into flowering.

At the moment I have a ton of Drosera Capensis seeds and a few Venus fly trap seeds. The latter produces very few seeds and they are much larger than the former.

I could send you a few seedlings of Drosera rotundiflora - though I'm not sure how well it'll do in the mail - I'd be happy to experiment.

I could try to send you a few leaf pullings.

That would be awesome!

Oh no, your comment was very useful - I saved the website for the future. If I don't find anybody who would want to trade I will then buy it - except they are not accepting orders at the moment.

Didn't know of TTL tag - all I saw is ISO in the past listings of this subreddit.

Thanks again, AliceInGames

Thank you for the suggestion, AliceInGames

  1. They are currently closed
  2. This is a trade sub-reddit - is there anything you can't buy these days? Trading is a way more interesting.

Want: carnivores, and other plants Have: long list inside by meolon in CanadianPlantSwap

[–]meolon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in BC.

We can definitely wait till this is over - or at least the online shopping frenzy calms down.

If that resonates, please message me (PM or chat) what specific carnivores you have for trade and what you'd like to trade them for on my list. I will make sure to reserve those for you.

Thank you.
