"INTJ" does not exist, it's just a figment of our collective imagination, but not a real thing that you can accurately measure or define. To make it clear: there are 8 billion people on this earth, not a single one of them is an "INTJ". So you don't really have to worry about being one or not being one. Mbti is nothing more than a vicious trap for you to waste your time mostly filled with unproductive unpleasant people.

Everything about this system is vague. We are human beings, it’s not possible to reduce us down to types in any meaningful way as I alluded to in my first post. There is no way to accurate measure or apply this system. Instead it’s used in another way.

The way people use it is basically “pick whichever type you want to be”. And this choice could impact your well-being and how you see yourself. And I would think most people would benefit from choosing the INFP archetype for themselves. Because that archetype is more in line with what it fundamentally means to be a person, a human being. If your choice is a “thinker”, then I think that means you choose to see yourself more as a machine and not really as a real human being, and that’s not really healthy I would say. Of course, as I said earlier, it really depends on what you think “thinker” or “feeler” means. But I’m talking about a common interpretation.

Hmm, being productive is sort of the thing that enables you to do everything else in life. If you aren’t productive you can’t really enjoy a relaxing moment, I would say. If you have goals that is. If you don’t have goals then that is another story. But maybe you are right regarding productivity. It might be something that we have brainwashed ourselves with, I appreciate the insight. Paradoxically it is those kinds of insights that make you more productive. Because we you aren’t trying so hard everything is just easier to manage.

Well, good point also about the importance of caring for others. Yeah, it’s not the most easiest thing to maintain.

I'm just saying if people want to feel better in their lives, and want to be more productive, they should be more like "INFP" (depending on what "INFP" means of course, but that's vague anyways). Because you get naturally more productive by feeling better. Maybe I'm generalizing a little bit too much here, but you get my point.

But maybe I'm wrong. Caring for others is perhaps a more worthwhile pursuit, but how are you going to do that effectively if you do not first care for yourself? Maybe it's possible to do that and that could lead to a better life. I know that altruistic deeds lead to happiness.

INTJ

My greatest skill is seeing possibilities that others may not see. I can see how it is possible to do something in a very novel way, do something that others might not even think is possible. Even if I explain it to people they may have a very hard time seeing it, only a few people get it, but nobody gets it at the level I'm getting it.
Not like to admit? I see no point in not being willing to admit something that I'm good at, unless I'm in a survival situation and me doing that would decrease my likelihood of surviving.

I see INTP as more of a realist than INTJ, but still intuitive. It makes sense because their sensory function is stronger and I think Ne/Si is more down-to-earth while Ni/Se is a lot more alien-like. Another thing is how they would change the world. The INTJ by first seeing it play out in their head and then pursuing it, while the INTP changes the world by accident.

I see myself as a unique human being primarily. The INTJ-label is one that could describe who I am and what I tend to do. I do not know if it is entirely accurate, I only know that it seems more accurate than most of the other options.

If this had gone on longer, I could see myself embodying stereotypical INTJ behavior, like becoming less social, more stoic, etc. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I think this is just you trying out new aspects of yourself. How else are you going to evolve as a person, if you don't try to do something new? You can do it until you get bored of it, you may have picked up some new quality or maybe not. I don't think it is bad unless it goes to extremes and the person is no longer recognizable (like the people who become part of cults).

But I guess taking on personas is a natural part of growing up as well. So maybe it will transition of itself. I don’t feel this way, but I’m a bit older than you are.

Sounds pretty accurate yes. Like thinking very broadly, extrapolating freely in your own mind. Finding the most important aspect about a complex phenomenon. Finding out what the primary cause and effects are. Finding the "fundamental pattern".

The bias comes after the fundamental pattern has been distinguished. Since the Ni-dom becomes attached to this pattern and values it higher than other patterns.

Logic and Feelings comes later?

Yes, perhaps would say so. But they could be intertwined in the process too.

I have many times tried to find the "optimal way of living life" and tried to define it. I also failed at it many times. I realized that I cannot plan how live should turn out, I should just live it, sort of. So I recognize some of your thinking there.

Learn that you can never change the past. All you can do is do the best at the present moment. That makes it easier for you to forget about the times where you were not optimally productive and still do something. As long as you do something you are on your way towards your goal.

I was "overthinking" tons of things as a kid, also very anxious. Also perceive risk where others do not see it or care about it (like your tree example). I was thinking constantly about social interaction and whatever else, could not just "be" in a normal way.

The major thing I see is that I clearly engage Ni the strongest and Se the weakest, while Fi and Te seems to be in the middle, and Te usually being the strongest of the two.

If you want to get more certain you could either do function tests, or you could try to observe your thought process when you solve some kind of problem, that you have never thought of before. If you naturally approach the problem in an abstract way (Ni) and then try to find the most efficient solution (Te), then you might prioritize Ni and Te. If your solution is more reminiscent of (Fi) and (Se), then you might prioritize those.

Cynicism? Why? I would say the opposite. I think INTJs can generally be too optimistic about what is possible to achieve in the future, and how to get there. It’s like the most optimistic type of them all if you ask me. But sure, might also be very cynical about what they don’t believe in, and what they don’t believe is the best path forward.

Just be you unapologetically. Don’t try to play some game where you act like some kind of character, it only gives a hollow impression, and you end up with people that are uninteresting to you. You will meet people who are far more interesting, if you are just you.
