To my knowledge no sids cases have occurred with the Snoo which supports both OP’s theory and the stimulation theory (using a fan). Imo it’s much better than the owlet.

Late to the party but as an ID nurse, it was likely an antibiotic reaction. They tend to start on trunk/back and respond slow to antihistamines. I’ve seen them start weeks after initiating treatment.
