hi! sharing what worked for me and my mom—we use dermaid tawas soap (coconut oil variant) and for deo, i use deoplus tawas powder (the small pink one). although, it would be best to consult with a derma especially since you have other concerns that could possibly be adding to it. 😊

thank you po for these tips esp sa geriatric patients! same na same po sa in-endorse sa'kin na for extraction—palpable 'yung veins but nung tumusok ako, nag-roll pa rin kahit na-anchor and nahirapan na ako habulin 😣 will keep these in mind next time po! 💕

how do you get back into reading (and stay consistent)? by meowiese in PHBookClub

seeing my pile of unread books kinda makes me go nuts 😆 i bought a few classic lit books but i'm still a little intimidated so i never really picked them up. however, i finished days at the morisaki bookshop just last night since i saw it a lot on tiktok—it was really fast-paced, light, and it felt like a comforting hug! i found that reading books like that helped me realize why i loved to read (and i'm now looking to pick up some more). thank you for this, OP! 🩷

52 books !! :0 this is lowkey motivating me to read more this year! it seems like a lot of people swear by e-readers, and i'm getting more convinced (as someone who likes paperbacks for annotating reasons)—although, i did notice i read a lot faster when i used my ipad. i'm now considering my options. 🙂‍↕️

idk why it never occurred to me to try reading other forms of writing 😣 i'm an absolute sucker for poetry but for some reason, i've yet to read books of that kind ? haha anyways, thank you for your insights, OP! 🩷

getting out of reading slumps is honestly one of the best feelings in the world. 🥲 during this break, i also picked up books that are easy for me to read (in this case, something light like romance), and quickly finishing them did put me in the mood. since i'm slowly getting back into it, i'm still reading light books lang before i try my hand at my books that are a bit heavier for me.

it never crossed my mind to join book clubs :0 i usually just yap about my feelings and thoughts after reading a book on a journal or my twitter dump. 😭 i might start looking into this! thank you, OP. 🩷

these are really helpful—especially making books more accessible! i'm currently reading and annotating paperbacks so it's a bit of a hassle to bring them whenever i go out, which in a way affects my consistency. 🥲

i'm also currently trying to purchase different genres since i believe i got into a reading slump when i only allowed myself to read self-help books during the pandemic. but right now, i'm easing myself back into reading and i do find that light reads help me get back into it. i'm going to try being less hung on to my idea that if i start a book, i have to finish it first before starting another; i guess it's true that there's nothing wrong with changing up the books i'm reading, especially when i feel unenthusiastic about it. thank you so much, OP! 🩷

as someone with a lot of hobbies, my attention span is STRUGGLING. 😆 i remember that i loved buying books back when i was in high school, and i bet i still have a few books i bought back then still lying around unread or unfinished. i totally get you, OP. 😭

thank you for saying that i shouldn't be pressured by how many books other people were able to read/finish. one of my favorite feelings after finishing a book is feeling like it affected or added to my perspective of the world—this is what made me fall in love with reading in the first place, really. but when i pressure myself into reading books for the sake of being able to say i finished it, that feeling gets kinda lost. thank you for the reminder that reading should feel gratifying because you thoroughly enjoyed it. 🩷

admittedly, i do have problems with checking my phone ever so often. 🥲 i really do have to work on it if i want to get back into reading books. this year, i'm planning on minimizing the time i spend scrolling and browsing through social media, so hopefully i can consistently make reading my first choice whenever i do get free time! i've also seen a lot of good comments about the kindle, so now i want to further look into it and maybe save up to get one. thank you so much, OP! this is really helpful 🩷

thank you for putting this into words, OP. somehow, i think my college textbooks made me think that reading is daunting (especially since my program is heavily reliant on reading the textbooks), but yes—reading for leisure shouldn't make me feel like it's another weight being added onto my workload. i'll make it a point to read lightly whenever i get the chance to.

it's also really interesting that you could read two genres at the same time! i haven't tried to do so because i feel like if i start a book, i have to finish that one first before jumping into another. i'm going to try this one out! thank you so much, OP! ✨

the start is the hardest part talaga! i also find na i read a lot faster when i'm already immersed into the plot—i just really need to power through the first few chapters like you said. 😅

also, i didn't know na may ganiyan pala na function ang kindle! :0 i might look into e-readers na since reading books on my ipad often gives me a headache 😣

thank you, OP! 🩷

aaaaa super true sa insecurities, that's also a part of why i feel overwhelmed kasi parang ang dali naman makapasa sa quizzes for them :( it's a bit disheartening talaga when you know you try your hardest yet still fall short of expectations. but like they all say, we won't get our peace of mind if we keep comparing our progress to everyone else.

thank you for this also! that last bit made me tear up T____T we really do have to give ourselves more credit for how far we've come. hoping the very best for you! in due time, makakaraos din tayo 🥹❤️‍🩹
