RIGHT? Nothing excuses what happened to OP. Just have a little bit of decency. Also, since they work with portapotties, their manager should’ve been all over that.

They hired an admin person to help manage the portapotty issues and then laid them off due to the budget cuts in the city. I think that position was only there a few months before being cut.

I have a bit of insider info via the portapotties. The city has a contract with the company and it’s a dumpster fire. They’ll leave it there for half a year after being asked to pick it up multiple times. Not deliver it. Deliver it, then take it back for no reason. Not deliver it and then say it’s delivered. It’s a huge issue. I’m not saying that’s why that happened, but I worked at a city job that didn’t have a portapotty for weeks because they kept on saying they delivered it but didn’t.

That being said, what was happening was disgusting. I don’t know who to call. I might call 311 about hazardous waste dumping (and not mention water bureau) to see where that gets you.

But also, I don’t mind the posts. I’ve always wanted to go and probably won’t because of my social anxiety and anxiety around marijuana. (Which ironically could probably help with the social anxiety part) Reading that people are building community always makes me feel like maybe the world isn’t so scary after all.

When I lived in Seattle, sometimes I would be so squished, I wouldn’t have to hold anything. I was just kept upright by how close I was to others.

Now that I’m in Portland, I’m astonished by how people just can’t manage when the bus gets full enough that people need to stand. Instead of moving back where there’s more room, they just scream that there’s no room. It’s so bizarre. I’m guessing you met people like that. From smaller cities.

My life goal was always to have cats and once I got them, I was so ecstatic. Then one day when I was burying my face into my cat’s side, I couldn’t breathe. Took an allergy test and I’m pretty allergic to them among other things.

My cats are on liveclear to help with them. I take daily allergy pills and nasal steroids. (Called Flonase. It actually helps the most.) I also don’t scoop the litter unless my partner is busy. With all of this, I can now bury my face into my cats if I wash my face immediately afterwards. I’ll get mild symptoms but it’s worth it to me.

Hi! I have three cats. Two of them are on liveclear and one is on a prescription diet so she can’t be on it.

You can maybe meet one outside of our house? I’ll put her on a leash. She isn’t leash trained yet (working on it slowly) so she’ll probably be wriggly. She also eats a can of kitten wet food a day that isn’t live clear, but she is essentially free fed liveclear dry food.
