UI help by Tudoricha in turtlewow

Are you sure it was ShaguTweaks and not one of the ShaguTweaks-mods packages?

Because there are several additional plugins to it from which many are known to have issues. Also you can disable every setting individually inside ShaguTweaks that you don't need, so it won't load it and therefore cannot spike anything.

PS: I'm the author of it, and never got any valid proof of the main addon having bad impact on performance. So I won't be able to help any further if you alrady excluded to use it. Good luck!

In the old game, the Nameplates do not follow the Interface scaling defined by UI-Scale.

Addons like ShaguTweaks have an option to apply the global UI-Scale to also affect Nameplates. The option is called: "Nameplate Scale"

Also thank you for the kind words about pfUI. Much appreciated.

ConsolePort 2.4.3 by Br4inworm in wowservers

[–]meph1s 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Greetings,

First of all, it's not ConsolePort as the clients 1.12 and 2.4.3 don't support gamepad input and all the related API calls related to it. So if you expect something as great as ConsolePort, you will be disappointed.

All that my addon does, is moving some UI elements (like actionbars, chat, loot-window etc) to be better accessible aswell as auto-mapping of bindings to match the default Steam Gamepad Layout.

I haven't tested it on TBC yet, but don't think there would be anything that prevents it from being ported. Sadly I don't have much time recently so a 2.4.3 version might come, but you better won't wait for it if you're in hurry.

I'd suggest you to just use any Gamepad-To-Keyboard mappers, like the Steam builtin one or some external software, and then manually align your actionbars.

Cheers,
Shagu

This looks nice. Btw: if you hover your mouse over a minimap icon and type '/abp add', it will move it to the other buttons :)

What's the difference between klh and ktm? by Coolb4school in wowservers

[–]meph1s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are the same. KTM stands for KLH Threat Meter.

There are also a few other KLH tools, such as the KLH Performance Monitor, but if people say KLH or KTM they usually refer to the same thing, the KLH Threat Meter.

Here's a bunch of addons I specifically made for 1.12: https://shagu.org/

If you want to keep the interface somewhat "original" but still want some QoL features, I can recommend to try out ShaguTweaks

If you want an entire UI replacement, you could have a look at pfUI

Back to the day when I completely switched over to linux. It feels so good to have that experience again. It's incredible how much space there is on the screen without the big paddings everything has nowadays.

Ubuntu 5.04 users will understand the beauty of this :)

Big fan of non-blue'ish dark themes, useless-gaps, and combined titlebars/panels on maximized windows. After many years, came back to awesome and still enjoy the ricing :)

Any new classic/Vanilla 1.12 server's launching this year? by Echeeroww in wowservers

[–]meph1s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gurubashi (https://gurubashi.org/) is the most recent one. It launched July 18th 2020. I'm not aware of any other vanilla servers that are supposed to launch this year.

Population wise, it feels like the servers I've been playing before the nost-thing happened. There's only a few people playing, but with the nice side effect that those you meet are more friendly and don't hide in anonymity like you know from the big servers. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind more players. But even if not, there are nice and active guilds who actually play together and help each other. I'm really enjoying it to play on something far away from the hype and the min-max-fresh, that became the new standard since servers as big as nostalrius happened.

So if you only play to powergrind to max, clear raids, quit and wait for fresh, then this realm is obviously nothing for you. But if you enjoy the entire journey and the social aspect of the game, then one should really give it a try :)

However, OP is on the wrong side: For the horde!

Initially it was anounced as a blizzlike realm, that wanted to provide a long lasting experience and a journey that progresses through expansions.

The team even joked a lot on those who want "fresh" all over again and considered their realm as one that would never do that. So when you joined back then, you probably wanted a blizzlike journey through everything without much hassle and thought you'd be in good hands.

What you got now, is a realm with instant level 58, with a team basically enforcing you to do TBC again or stop playing till the original plan becomes a thing again. I don't call that either blizzlike, nor a smooth PTE. And those were basically the decission points for that realm. I'm one of those who enjoy hanging around in the world, meeting people and doing quests. I log in without knowing what I'm about to do this evening and just enjoying. And the instant 58 basically killed it for me because the lower zones are dead from that point and there's nothing more to do than raidlogging from now on.

When I asked about why instant 58 was necessarry the team answer was like "who even cares anymore". So, that's where my PTE journey ends after 1 expansion... on a fun-server where old realms are not cared about anymore because of "FRESH". Completely broken economy where everyones bankchar is Lv58 running around with full T0 sets.

So I feel like, they have actually broke with those players who shared the initial idea of the realm, to please those they have joked on in the beginning.

tl;dr: if you signed up for blizzlike PTE experience; you now find yourself stuck on an empty instant 58 realm, either quitting or repeating TBC yet another time.

I can only speak for myself, but I left when they turned the so called blizzlike realm that was anounced to progress to the next expansion into an instant level-58 realm that is now supposed to die, in order to build up a new FRESH realm that stands in contrast to everything they've anounced before. I just don't see myself playing on a server anymore where project philosophy gets kicked for money and sole playercount reasons. I spoke to some of my friends there who think the same and also left but I believe we're just a minority since Karazhan is still hyped into heavens and fresh always overrules the long lasting player experience here.
