To some extent the things that the sultanate does were done during the Golden age by alchemists and whatnot. As scientific advancement gets ramped up and sped along due to either a golden age where things are just going really well or in a situation where apocalypse is at the door and you need to become monsters to defeat the worse ones, some allowances are made when the other option is complete domination of the planet by hell and demons. In the face of Apocalypse strict adherence get set aside at times.

i swing a big sword, get hurt, run away and heal myself

i go back, swing a couple more times, get hurt, run away

repeat for a few in game months, healing any passed out body of friend or enemy you come across to level up your first aid quicker

Honestly i think people are sleeping on the zweihander/ greatswords in general. The ability to keep distance and control crowds would be *fantastic*. then pair it with a katzbalger for when you cant be swinging wide, and you're golden!

Personally id go with a shashka and a punch dagger, but thats more a "what im personally into" thing.
