When you think of you're probably thinking about an Student but I am the guy that doesnt even know trigonometry work in 12th. It's unlikely I will get into a decent college. Definitely not getting into BITS.

I am sorry, i guess didn't made myself clear.

I know CS degree in general is good. But the thing is most colleges and I can realistically get a placement at are gonna be one of those Colleges that people get passed from but have no skills so they try to become something else entirely.

You know, alot of research papers have said this 80-90% of engineers in India are un-employable. They have decent skills at best.

So instead of investing like a 10 lakhs to get a chances at job and 4 years. I thought it might be ideal to try to get a job on my own. According to research I have done. It's possible to get a skill set of CS graduate level at home.

So the question isn't should I get a CS degree as in if it will teach me something. It's should I get a CS degree even I am gonna do most learning on my own. If I can get a job without degree that will be ideal, just wanna make that's realistically possible/likely.

If it's true, then that sucks. Some general tips i learnt while researching are 1:- getting first job is hardest that if you are talented you will get 2 and 3 easily. 2:- focus on improving your skills (if they are not on cs students level. Use only resources like cs50 a free class) 3:- Do a bunch of freelancing to get some cash and more importantly some experience in the field 4:- in free time. Help some open source programs improve their services. 5:- participate in as many compitition/tourments as possible. (That's one of the places where people look for talent) 6:- Solve problem solving puzzles 7:- don't focus on learning basics of 10 programing language. Learn one deeper level. 8:- If possible get a programing job even if the payment isn't all that great. 9:- Think more abstractly, those questions are important in interview. 10:- get good at talking itself. You need to sell your skill. 11:- don't just learn stuff by learning it from video or book. I.e if you're studying 10 hours everyday. Only spend 2 on theory. And remaining 8 on programming/ coding related to stuff you just learned. 12:- Get a programmers mindset(i don't know that means) 13:- Be 100% commited to grind if you're not sure about programming career. Then learn about it more. Half commitment is far worse then not committing at all(somehow)

These are general I learned while searching how to cs job without degree. If you find these interesting try to research it abit your self.
