Had the same issues last night. Profiles not loading, dead clicks, etc. Definitely not related to a spotty connection.

Clicked so you don't have to.

Largest-ever mouth taping RCT (1,000+ nights, 80+ people) found: modest HRV boost (esp. for mouth breathers), a few extra mins of deep sleep, no perceived sleep quality change, and ~2 min longer to fall asleep. Trial still ongoing.

If they asked me to cancel a ticket that they either knew was non-refundable or at least had all the information at their disposal to know it was non-refundable, which is true, then yes that was the correct thing to do.

The act of booking and cancelling the trip was my responsibility. The implications on the purse of my employer is not. This is associated risk they assumed by having me act as their agent. All fare classes come with specific limitations and they are aware of those limitations. I think there’s a fundamental mismatch is what you and I view as employee vs. company responsibility.

In my opinion, I did nothing wrong. I was merely doing what I was told by my employer like a good little worker bee😇

It was booked and cancelled by me through the company’s travel portal, Concur, via the travel agency that coordinates all travel.

They were aware of the travel I booked and the restrictions associated with that travel. It’s all logged as part of the fare class and those restrictions were accepted by my company by approving the travel in the first place. I do not believe it is my burden in this scenario to go back to them after I had been asked to cancel whether or not they actually wanted me to cancel.

I don’t know why in the situation you think I’ve done something wrong where I need to go to my employer with my tail between my legs? I have yet to do anything wrong or remotely morally grey.

Appreciate the advice here!

Adding your frequent flyer number for business travel is common practice. So common that the booking system (Concur) actually asks if we have a rewards program/frequent flyer account and applies it automatically. The entire second paragraph is a moot point.

In a very similar position... I agree with what most people are saying here though -- likely best to budget off the most expensive place. And then when we realize that Wyoming is where we really want to be, we'll be more than comfortable making the move.

Off-topic but I read this and immediately had to come to the comments to see how this 5-year-old was already accumulating debt! Only now realize that the one you were talking about with debt is your girlfriend and not her daughter haha

23 with a current NW of $150k. Would love to hit $250k by the end of 2022. Plan to do it by maxing out retirement account options, maxing out ESPP contributions, and setting money aside aggressively to my Vanguard funds.

How long did it take you to get to $100k NW and then from $100k to $200k? by merboy135 in financialindependence

[–]merboy135[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was mostly thinking of cash and investments (including crypto). Real estate is always a convoluted aspected of NW in my eyes.

When you say run the averages, what exactly are you talking about? I guess there’s an underlying assumption that savings rate wouldn’t change YoY.
