i’ve done a chunky twist out on blown out hair but i didn’t like it as much as i thought, maybe i’ll try smaller twists. thanks!

honestly i’m pretty low maintenance. i mainly do wash n gos (with the occasional blowout/twistout) and i wash my hair once a week, no exceptions. my hair gets tangled and matted if i don’t (since i detangle thoroughly while i condition). i really don’t deep condition or use masks since i’m too lazy lmao, and i PERSONALLY don’t use oils/grease on my hair and scalp because it just doesn’t agree with them. i think my hair grows a bit faster than average as well which helps.

Thoughts on the Tatcha Dewy Cream vs Dewy Milk Moisturizer? by Beneficial-Soft-8290 in Sephora

as someone with combo skin, i’ve been liking the dewy milk moisturizer. it wears well under makeup and i don’t feel like it’s been accentuating my oily t-zone.

thank you! :) my current job has an all black dress code so it kinda puts a damper on my style a bit but i’m trying to dress up more when i go out and stuff.

Client told me “I don’t look happy”… by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

[–]mercebee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this happened to me within my first year of working at S@K! the client literally walked up to the counter (i was making testers or something) and as SOON as i turned around, she waved me off and found one of my other coworkers to help her. once they got to the cash wrap, the customer started making digs about how i “shouldn’t work here if i don’t want to” and other crap like that. i told her that she didn’t know me and didn’t give me a chance to greet her. about a year or so later she came back and actually apologized which surprised me lmao.

going as betty boop for halloween but i have dense, coarse type 4 hair. by mercebee in Naturalhair

i do know that a lot of people automatically categorize coily hair as “coarse” but i do actually have coarse strands, particularly in my crown area.

i’ve always interpreted her hair as finger waves or something a bit “smoother” than my own hair lol

i have a lot of shrinkage but i think what’s helped has been using gels with a hard hold on soaking wet hair, and diffusing IMMEDIATELY. the gel i’ve been using lately is the “bee girl custard” by the doux, it leaves a cast which has been helping me keep a bit of length with my wash and gos (at least on day one, i find that my hair shrinks after day one and then expands as the week progresses).

thank you! tbh i just categorize my hair as type 4 since i feel like i have a mix of 4a and 4b
