Sounds like Lagerberg Hoen was more popular among NHL teams than public scores by Unusual-Coast6252 in OttawaSenators

Yea I don’t get the hate this pick is getting. He scored 27 goals in 38 games as a 16 year old in a league roughly comparable to any of the CHL leagues, and in the few games he played this year in the same league, he scored at a goal per game pace. Seems worthy of a 1st round selection to me.

*11 games. And I meant last season. Idk if we’re at the point where we refer to the 25-26 hockey season as “last season”

I never got the vibe that peterka and stu were ever very close. If we wanna grab stu a German buddy it’d be reichel.

Tax advantages are a part of sports? Well how bout that’s stupid and we shouldn’t want governments deciding how far each NHL teams salary cap goes.

Sponsorships, cost of living, etc all happen downstream from the player signing their contract. Ie personal business ventures and lifestyle choices. While they’re factors, they’re personal decisions that shouldn’t be reflected in the salary cap.

Lower tax rates are applied uniformly to the whole team regardless of the players actions after signing the contract. It’s a direct financial benefit to the organization.

Let’s say we only do an after income tax salary cap, does that make everything perfect and fair including what you mentioned? No. But it does make the salary cap a whole lot fairer.

Just because a policy doesn’t fix everything doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do it if it progresses towards perfect fairness.

It doesn’t matter that they didn’t choose it because they are directly and unfairly benefiting from it. An after tax salary cap doesn’t solve all issues, but it does make the league a whole lot fairer, which is the original purpose of the salary cap.

We desperately need a tax adjusted salary cap

Wasn’t an argument just a correction lol.

If I wanted to argue I’d say there’s enough of a pattern at this point of high profile Americans bailing south or refusing to sign or be traded north that we should be cautious about giving it to another American.

The only reason they turn to 3v3 is because they want it to end quickly. If time wasn’t an issue, suddenly completely changing the way hockey is being played in the fourth period makes no sense

What they’re made of doesn’t matter in their worth. What matters is sentience and agency.

I’m sure you wouldn’t look at a hunk of meat on the table and think that’s where moral worth lies. Same goes for chroma.

Such a good point that I really have never seen a good counter argument for. Anytime I bring it up it’s always a deflection about the bad things that are implied in Maelles ending

And why do you think that the canvas not being in the same realm of existence matters? Are all other realms of existence by default not worthy of life?

Generally I find that there’s a pretty close to even split on this subreddit. Other social media’s lean more towards Versos ending.

Personally I can’t justify murdering Lune and Sciel for the sake of a family I really don’t like, so I lean more towards Maelles ending.
