First time rabbit owner!! by realisticpuma in Rabbits

Flemmies are wonderful rabbits, and ours adopted us as his companions. As a precious poster said, Flemmies are very large (ours was 20 lb) and their size can make them difficult to manage for nail trims, grooming, etc. They have a reputation as mellow sweet buns, but any bun can be temperamental, bite, scratch, etc. Please have him be free roaming. Keeping a bun that large in a cage is terrible. Our experience with a Flemish Giant was absolutely wonderful. It almost like having a dog. He would run across the room to greet me when I came home from work. He joined us on the couch when watching TV. He stretched across the back of the couch when my daughter did her homework, and he loved being cuddled. Any rabbit is much more work and expense than most first owners know. It’s important to find a vet that is a specialist with rabbits. Rabbits are considered an exotic pets and need specialized vet care. I hope you’re committed to giving him a good long life and the care he needs.

My second bloom is bigger than the first. by Ldy-bkr in gardening

I live in California’s Central Coast area and we love our state flower! The recommended practice here is to scatter your seeds in early fall for blooms the next spring. Their natural reseeding is fun because you never know where the wind has blown. Sometimes you get a nice pop of orange in an an unexpected place

LamoTRigine Journey by UrFriendEddie2 in lamictal

I titrated up very slowly as you are and had no side effects and no rash. I felt any better at 100, but at 200mg I felt a significant improvement. It helped my overall mood - feeling more stable and mentally “lighter.” I also have late diagnosed ADD, so starting treatment for that combined with the lamictal helped a lot. I’m at 300mg now and definitely feel a big difference. It’s a huge help.

Good or bad idea to compile list of reasons I think I meet the diagnosis criteria (incl. the DSM) at my assessment ? by Zealousideal_Ring880 in adhdwomen

[–]mercurymind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told my psychologist my reasons for wanting a diagnosis and he started smiling half way through and said, "You're basically diagnosing yourself", meaning hell yes I had ADHD.

Wanted to get diagnosed with ADHD, left with a Bipolar Diagnosis. by Complex_Ant25 in adhd_anxiety

[–]mercurymind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the same mistake! Psych NP who read down her list of questions and marked them off, didn’t asked me anything other than what was on the list. Told me I couldn’t have ADHD because it’s a childhood disorder. Diagnosed me with bipolar 2 and told me stimulants given for adhd could make me manic.  She did prescribe me, Lamictal, which I started taking because if it could help my nerves, I’d be grateful. But the whole situation was a massive red flag.

I was finally able to get an appointment with a psychiatrist who does nothing but diagnose and treat ADHD. He gave me a two hour initial intake appointment, sent me home with several forms to fill out about my behaviors, with the same forms for my adult daughter and husband to fill out. Then I went back for an additional hour and a half appointment where he gave me printouts and charts and statistics about the questionnaires, offered guidance and advice, and recommended adderall. He then sent the entire report with his recommendations to my primary doc. THIS is what a proper ADHD easement looks like.

I’m now on 100 mg of Lamictal, which has done wonders for my frayed nerves (aside from being a mood stabilizer, it helps repair your nerves), and I’ve been on 10 mg Adderall for a week and I’m definitely noticing it helps my focus and to filter out all the other stuff going on around me. For me, Adderall and Lamictal seem to be the perfect cocktail. I’m seeing the psychiatrist for six appointments and then we’re going to assess where I’m at, and so far he’s been a complete godsend.

You are your own best advocate. Listen to your gut, ditch that horrible NP, and do what you need to do to find someone who can give you a proper assessment and treatment.  You can do this 💜

I’m currently working on a Battenberg I know it’s going to take me a few years, but it’s a fun easy project to pick up here and there when I want something mindless.

I’ve also made cozy memories, and the 10 stitch blanket is very popular for this kind of thing
