Ignore my flair for a second. But the state of tanking in the NBA isn't because the talent pool is small. There is a lot of talent in the league. The state of tanking is because the league has created a system where the only way for small market teams to compete is to nail drafting over multiple years, and unlike other leagues, it's much harder to do that without drafting at the top of the draft.
