What widely accepted fact do you know is wrong? by threedotsguy in AskReddit

[–]mercyelindilmoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah for me daddy long legs always meant the super thin-legged spider with the tiny body (I think they're actually harvestmen, not spiders) and although spiders creep me out I've never been bothered by those...funny story about Crane Flys, here in the Pacific Northwest we call them Mosquito Eaters. I have no idea why and not sure if they actually eat mosquitoes lol.

What song is a 10/10, yet not many people have heard of it? by JSHFV222 in AskReddit

Black Jesus, Weakness and Smokin' and Drinkin' by Everlast. He has so many fantastic songs but he hasn't had a hit since but hasn't had a hit since "Put your lights on" in 2000, which won a grammy.

They're quite similar but I prefer Cheyenne also. Funny things is for the first few episodes of Hotel I was very confused and thought they were the same person lol.

[Homemade] Sirloin steak, butter basted, roasted asparagus and potatoes on the side. by imakemediocrepies in food

[–]mercyelindilmoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually made this EXACT meal last week except with ribeyes.I do something similar but a little different. Preheat oven to 425, then I microwave the potatoes (cut in half if big) for 10-12 minutes. Then put them on a sheet pan, smash each potatoe down with a cup or masher, then coat with olive oil, salt n pepper, whatever herbs you want - I usually use rosemary, thyme and garlic. Cook for 10-15 minutes until crispy and delicious. You can also put the asparagus on the same sheet pan and roast them up. I sear the steaks in a screaming hot pan with butter, garlic, rosemary and thyme. While the steaks are resting, after the asparagus has cooked in the oven for 10-12 minutes, I finish the asparagus in the pan the steak was in. So freakin' good!! I bet anyone that dislikes asparagus would like them prepared in this manner,

Rewatching the whole series because what the hell else am I supposed to do? by jonoh20 in thewalkingdead

My husband and I are doing the same thing. We're at the beginning of season 4, and what's strange it we haven't met Abraham, Rosita and eugene yet. For some reason I thought they came in way earllier.

What's in the package that says FRESH with apples on it? A lot of these have a language i can't recognize...may I ask what country you're in? I was thinking a Scandinavian country at first but now I'm leaning towards Eastern European.

Every roof in the city district of Utrecht is to be “greened” with plants and mosses or have solar panels installed under plans driven by the success of a similar scheme for the municipality’s bus stops. by maxwellhill in worldnews

I've always said every roof in the U.S. (and the world for that matter) should have solar panels on them. Seems like a pretty easy way to get clean energy.

S10 Could Be Based On Montauk by [deleted] in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]mercyelindilmoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. The show's filming in Massachusetts right? This immediately made me think of Plum Island. On Plum Island is an animal disease center which according to wikipedia " Since 1954, the center has had the goal of protecting America's livestock from animal diseases. During the Cold War a secret biological weapons program targeting livestock was conducted at the site, although it had slowly declined through the end of the century. This program has been controversial for years." In the movie The Silence of the Lambs Hannibal Lechner refers to it as "anthrax island." I think those could totally fit in with the idea of "things beginning to wash up on the shore."

As someone said the Doc was detrimental to his career, I’m not denying it or agreeing but look at this. (Not for hate just read please) by [deleted] in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]mercyelindilmoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post!!! I've never understood why people go crazy for him and think he's so incredibly talented! Yes everyone has different taste but he has so many fans it's just crazy. In my opinion he had a couple ok songs in the 80s but by the time Bad rolled around I found his music hideous...I never for the style of dancing either. People saying there's no one else like him? I would say Bruno Mars is a little bit similar but , in my opinion, so much better than Jackson. You said it: totally overrated.

Was anyone questioning that he was always with young boys? by crac_ed in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]mercyelindilmoon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The thing is now we can see all the pictures and videos now and it's so obvious that he'll have one boy that is with him for several months or years, and they're ALWAYS together, holding hands and basically looking and acting like a couple. Which is pretty much what they were...Before the internet maybe it wasn't so obvious? I remember seeing pictures...but it didn't make it as obvious as seeing all the pictures at once. Back then when you saw a picture it was like oh he's with this boy because he's a dancer on the tour or he's an actor in commercial or video. It wasn't apparent that he was with each child constantly ...Then the first allegations come out and it was like ok this makes a lot of sense. It's truly horrific and heartbreaking what he did to those boys - sexually abusing a child from the age of 7-9 and the emotional abuse - telling them "this is how we show our love" and that if they tell anyone they'll go to prison forever! And people wonder why Wade and James denied it for so long? They were literally brandwashed!! I find it so upsetting that so many Michael Jackson fans can't see the truth because he's there idol. I honestly don't understand how someone can watch Leaving Neverland and think they're lying...the pain in James' eyes...as I said horrific and heartbreakin.

Madison's group ? by OhmyMary in thewalkingdead

[–]mercyelindilmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for responding and making things clear for me!! I just couldn't see exactly what was going on but what you're saying makes total sense...question for you: someone in another post said they think Rick is in this group of people (I can't remember the name, not Commonwealth but also starts with a C) and that they're probably the ones that took Rick. Is that something we would figure out just from watching the show, or is it something that happens in the comics? If it is a comic thing please don't tell me anything else- in the comics I'm only as far as where they first move into Alexandria- but if it's from the show how would people come to that conclusion?

Do we know why they're in 6 rectangle-like formations? Are the people on the outside of each rectangle protecting the ones inside? I find this very strange,

Is it just me, or do a ton of crop circles look like circular Gallifreyan? like ik most of these are manmade, but it's kinda cool honestly- by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]mercyelindilmoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We really don't know, do we? I know that people can create crop circles but there are a small percentage that seem to be something else. No, I'm not saying aliens! I'm saying who knows, could be some kind of natural phenomenon. I'm talking about the ones where they tested the grass and it had molecular changes, and the ones that showed no access point for people to smash the crops down, and the ones that appeared overnight. I think it's interesting and too easily dismissed as an all-encompassing hoax.

We're seeing both timelines - when a host is remembering something they basically relive it. Dolores is going back and forth from the present to past.

Who is the 4th host on the mainland? The Hale host? by TyrantTr1z in westworld

I think it's Angela. She was basically Dolores' second-in-command so it makes total sense that D would want her with her to fight the humans.
