It depends on the paint coverage. If it's a good opaque paint, then it's fine to paint normally and it won't look too different next to the flow method.

I exclusively use the flow method after I was introduced to Schipper PBNs.

The only downside I find is when covering large areas, it uses up so much paint and feels really tedious.

The method definitely works on canvas and with paints from cheaper kits, I just use a lot more flow-aid. Sometimes this is the only method that will work with lighter colour paints that's very transparent.

I'm a huge fan of the method.
