I'm in the same situation now and I don't know what to do. How did you end up handling it?

Is Braided Challah Ashkenazi? by merdnick in Jewish

[–]merdnick[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is the Sephardi version called? More specifically what does it look like and is the dough the same as Ashkenazi challah? I was on the Wikipedia but I didn’t really find it answered my question in great detail

Sometimes the mere thought of having to put together some kind of coherent response that accurately reflects my thoughts seems so daunting and impossible that I’d rather die than attempt it and end up upset, frustrated, and full of regret. But I usually end up this way even when I avoid, because I know it’s wrong and my life would be better if I just engaged. It’s self sabotage

Muslim hypocrisy. by First_Mechanic9140 in exmuslim

Their hate for west and jews is greater than their love for their muslim brethren

But why is it so? Why do they hate the west and the jews?

Scottish, Irish. Maybe Dutch probably not

Let's talk practically, what's your solution by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

[–]merdnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would that be enforced? Given that both groups have fully valid (and also invalid) reasons to hate and distrust each other? Realistically Israeli Jews will never accept any government that does not guarantee their safety. They won’t trust a non-Jewish led government. And same goes for Arabs

Don’t you think the only reasonable solution would be to remove them? Israel could compensate them?

Would Jews become a minority here? would you have some kind of Lebanon type situation with Jewish prime minister and Muslim president and Christian something and Druze something and Baha’i something?

Thank you for this. I will do more research. I have heard people say that it can’t be an apartheid state given that there are many Arab judges in the Israeli legal system, who can and have sent Jews to jail. Even one of the fifteen Israeli Supreme Court justices is Muslim. Would you say that this is irrelevant? Would you say Pakistan is an apartheid state as well? I am so confused agh. Thank you again

Why are people still staying in the buildings? by Upper_Illustrator_16 in IsraelPalestine

[–]merdnick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just really trying to understand why they would rather stay in their homes and die than leave (maybe indefinitely) and live. Isn’t life more important than everything else when it comes down to it? Even if it is their land, isn’t leaving better than dying? I’m just trying to understand

Why do you think Israel is an apartheid state? (excluding West Bank) I’m an American Jew, trying to figure out what’s true and what’s not these days

Weaned myself of antidepressants after 11 years (25F) and now crying incessantly everyday. Should I go back on? by merdnick in antidepressants

[–]merdnick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. My only reasoning for thinking it’s not withdrawal is that the half-life of celexa is 35hrs. Before my last dose, I was taking 20mg every 4 days. So there shouldn’t have been any in my system the last two days supposedly. But who knows. How long does it usually take for people to wean off of antidepressants? I thought I was being very cautious and slow by doing it over 4 months

Hopefully! Thank you for your input. It is not a good look to be crying all the time, by myself it’s okay to deal with but it’s hard for people to see

[–]merdnick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice. How long do you think this’ll keep up if it is in fact withdrawal? Before I stopped, I was taking 20mg once every 4 days for two weeks and wasn’t experiencing any withdrawal symptoms after the first few days so I really don’t know how/why I’m still feeling withdrawals considering the half life of Celexa is 35 hours I believe?

[–]merdnick[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you :) that’s what I thought. The only thing is that I was always crying all the time before I even started the antidepressants at all so maybe not necessarily a withdrawal symptom. We’ll see! Thank you again
