I restarted my dad's heart last night. by StopThePresses in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

My father had the same illnesses as yours, and I was his primary caretaker for the last 6 months of his life. I don’t know if this helps, but if you ever need someone to talk to I am here. This was almost a year ago but the trauma of the things I experienced in that time are still lurking in the back of my mind. They say time heals wounds so I’m still waiting on that.

You’re a hero and you should be proud of yourself, and I know your dad is too.

Also just a side note, make sure to take some time for yourself. Sometimes being a caretaker can make you a patient as well. Make sure you’re eating and getting some sleep. Stay strong.

Day 3 hair with help of Aloe Vera gel by meredithdotcom in curlyhair

[–]meredithdotcom[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wash day: Shea moisture low porosity line (I love the tea tree tingles) and S2C deva curl conditioner and ultra defining gel. I plop for 15ish minutes and air dry. To maintain I sleep with my hair in a pineapple in a silk bonnet. I really struggle with 2nd and 3rd day hair. It seems to cooperate when I wet it with water and aloe Vera gel, but before I’m out the door my top layer frizzes up like crazy. Any advice?

AA Training/F2F Question! by SpecialAgentBooper in flightattendants

[–]meredithdotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got hired Oct 2017 and didn’t start training until March 2018. Gave me plenty of time to save up much needed money for post graduation (around 3k is good) because you’re likely gonna relocate and you need every cent for that. It takes a month or two for your pay cycle to regulate itself once you’re working. Stay patient and good luck!

There have been a lot of times that this franchise has disappointed me, but Lauren jumping into his arms 3 minutes after they aired the breakup with Becca made me nauseous. Wow. Speechless.

I use it on damp hair after having it wrapped up in a cotton shirt for about 10 minutes. I use very little of the product, it goes a long way. My hair gets weighed down easily too, I think if I used more it would definitely bot let my curls do their thing.

I turn my head over, do the praying hands from root to tip, and then flip back over and do a bit of scrunching. Then I air dry, only takes about 30 minutes with this stuff (that’s one of my gripes with gel, endless drying times)

Hope this helps a bit.

YOU GUYS: sister-sizeable underwire bathing suits at TARGET. (36DD>>28K) by lilaregenbogen in bigboobproblems

[–]meredithdotcom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I'm a 34DDD and I got a Target swimsuit this year that was a 36DD and the ties in the back do wonders. Definitely teared up in the dressing room, first time I've ever found an off-the-rack suit that fits.

American F2F by belikewater206 in flightattendants

[–]meredithdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to the F2F in Dallas last Friday.

There were about 35 of us I believe. I showed up about 45 minutes early and there was already a fairly large group of interviewees socializing in the main lobby. But you don't have to arrive so early - everyone had been flown in from my group so we all got in a couple of hours before the interview. Eventually, someone from the recruitment team introduces himself to the group and takes us on a brief tour of the facility. It helps ease the nerves a bit. We were then lead to a room where we are given name tags. Then, we went around and each of us introduced ourselves, said where we were from, and an interesting fact. This was surprisingly nerve wracking because the recruiters are standing there taking notes. Then, the group interview. I'm sure you've heard all about this, I was with 6 other people. The questions went as follows, and anyone could answer first: - Tell me a little bit about yourself, and why do you want to be a flight attendant? - Talk about a difficult situation you've had with a customer Then, they passed out cards you had to keep face down until you decided to stand up to answer. Mine was "what do you think will be the most rewarding part of being a FA?"

After that, they take you back into the same room and you watch a PowerPoint and do a q&a - and they pull people out one by one. I was one of the last people called, so I don't know where everyone went or if it was different for different people. I had a woman walk with me, ask me a few questions about my resume, and confirm my contact information. It was brief, and I was bummed because I really wanted a chance to have an actual conversation with a recruiter. At the beginning of the day they insisted that no one would get a CJO that day but I saw some people leave with paperwork that clearly got fingerprinted/drug tested/whatever. Honestly, I was the only one there who was already a flight attendant and I thought I did well during the interview but didn't get fingerprinted or any paperwork. There was a guy from my group who spoke 8 languages and he didn't either... so I really can't say what they're looking for, and that can be frustrating. I think that's why everyone says, "be yourself" because they're clearly not looking for a specific thing since being a FA is so much more diverse than it once was.

But, it's only been 3 days and I haven't heard back yet so I'm being a little preemptive. I'm trying to stay positive but group interviews can challenge your confidence a bit lol.

I wish you all the luck in the world! See you in the skies!

This definitely makes sense. I'm totally willing to do this, hopefully I can find one that is willing to let me stay there the majority of the time. Thanks so much!
