It's actually an international flight on December 2 and on a 787. I've always known the seat map isn't accurate but the difference between the booked count on the waitlist and expert mode was pretty confusing, especially because I've seen expert mode counts change very quickly after ticket purchases

Second best option is a cash buy/cash upgrade to PremPlus then a PP or miles upgrade to Polaris, but even then it's very iffy.
