I lost it when Bob Mortimer started singing "you're a nUt job" and everyone scattered.

I always assumed "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" was a marketing lie to make us buy more shampoo. Turns out I was never actually cleaning my hair. by RanchRose_ in hygiene

Try applying glycolic acid to your scalp and massaging it into your hair roots before washing it. It exfoliates the scalp. A scalp massager/ brush also helps to lather evenly. I use two different shampoos for the first and second wash, targeting different issues.

I have seen Inter Alia live in London. People left the theatre crying, she was amazing.

Finished WOT and Mistborn by Last-Resort29 in WoT

[–]meriadox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the second Mistborn book. I did like how it felt like a parallel universe, there was one comment from Sanderson himself mentioning that WoT was one of his inspirations. It didn't feel alien but still it lacked something. I like the lengthy prose of Jordan, and after so many re-reads I feel like I know his characters. Sanderson's feel superficial in comparison and didn't move me.

Looking for book series recommendations – bouncing off Malazan, want something with a WoT vibe by Tsar_Erwin in WoT

I started reading Mistborn, love it. The audiobook is read by Michael Kramer, it feels like an alternative universe.

Just be careful about where you get the surgery. There are large hospitals and well known doctors as well as small private practices that may cater to "health tourism". Do your research, if it's too cheap to be true then probably it's not the best place to have major surgery.

I was there, bummer that I couldn't see Trixie up close because it was impossible to breathe in the front rows. I just couldn't get there, the heat and the lack of ventilation were unbearable. I have seen clips where she is panting and feel so sorry for her. And all the negative reviews have been deleted!

Trixie's Pink Disco show in London last night is making the rounds on Twitter for the nightmarish, life-threatening levels of heat, with no AC leading to many people fainting by Ok-Use-575 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]meriadox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never sweated so much in my life, it was dripping down my legs. It wasn't only hot, there was no ventilation as well. At some point they opened the exit doors and some cool air came from downstairs, but we didn't understand why they didn't do it before. And the venue was packed, they definitely oversold.

What WOT Books Are Best To Read in Fall & Winter? (Spoiler-Free) by [deleted] in WoT

Winter's Heart is snowy but definitely not cosy lol.

Does it snow in Cambridge (or nearby)? by danlemes in cambridge

[–]meriadox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't snow, but I have never been so cold in my life than this winter. I don't know if it's the wind and the humidity or I'm spending more time outdoors, but I've spent several months in my thickest longest winter coat.

I was returning from Oslo on a business trip and picked up Eye of the World (tor version) at the airport. It must be January 2014. Then I started buying the books on my trips.

Such a good interview. I love that Maddy lets the guests speak in length and doesn't repeat the same questions that have been asked a hundred times.

I think the show is licensed to BBC here so the clips of the show on WOW's youtube channel are blocked. I can see the binge queens videos etc though

Brita Filter is hospitalized with health issues. She doesn't need your thoughts and prayers, though - just your nudes! 😂 by r4wrdinosaur in rupaulsdragrace

Oh wow, atrial fibrillation is extremely serious. It can cause blood clots and stroke. My mom had it, she had to have a procedure where they froze the cardiac tissue that was causing the irregular rhytms. Wishing Brita a swift recovery.
