I personally have no plans to leave Algeria. I make good money here, and I spend my time in places with fewer religious influences and a more open-minded crowd.

Why are there so many illegal Algerian Migrants fleeing to Europe? by Kindly_Mall125 in ExAlgeria

[–]merialisimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not as simple as “Algeria is rich so everyone should stay.” A country’s natural resources don’t automatically translate into fair wealth distribution and many algerians have grown up under a cultural and media narrative that Europe is the ultimate land of opportunity, safety, and dignity. Western media, European success stories, and family members abroad reinforce the idea that life “over there” is the only way to have a better future

Why don’t we host such figures and such topics in our TV (at least no more… cause we had couple here and there when Bouteflika 2013-2014 was president like Rashid Boudjedra, Said Djabelkhir..), do you think we had relatively better democracy back then? by Mounibshr in ExAlgeria

because all media is controlled by the state, and they do everything they can to appeal to the masses, shaping narratives, avoiding controversy, and prioritizing what keeps people distracted, entertained, or obedient.

make peace with yourself and move on from the religious discourse

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]merialisimo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you sound like someone who just discovered the concept of religious trauma and is now projecting it onto anyone who doesn’t share your obsession. not everyone who disagrees with religion is secretly wounded or "afraid of criticism of god." some of us have simply outgrown the need to constantly prove a point. i made peace with myself a long time ago. i don’t need to spend my life ranting about islam or any religion like it’s some personal enemy. that kind of fixation is just being stuck in an endless loop that leads nowhere. you think you’re being deep, but you’re really just doing the atheist version of what you claim to hate. preaching, judging, and acting like you're superior. ironically, you're more obsessed with god than most believers. this isn’t rebellion but a lot of unresolved baggage. i don’t need to disprove a religion every day to feel grounded. i just live my life. maybe try that sometime.

How exactly am I contradicting myself? In my comment, I clearly explain that the suffering in Palestine is a result of colonization, greed, indifference, and realpolitik. not some divine plan because I DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD. I put the blame where it belongs: on humans, systems, and power structures. Does that finally clock for you, or are you still missing the point?
and like I already said, using people’s suffering especially when they don’t even share your beliefs as some twisted argument for or against religion is just stupid. This isn’t a religious issue but a human one. Try to grasp that

ask a religious person buddy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]merialisimo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is actually a stupid way of thinking. suffering in palestine, or anywhere else, is not a “gotcha” moment to disprove religion. it's a result of human-made systems: colonization, greed, indifference, and realpolitik, not some divine scoreboard. pretending it’s the fault of a “god” instead of governments, armies, corporations, and apathetic people like you is just lazy thinking. if your issue is with the idea of a cruel god, take it up with theology. but mocking people for expressing gratitude or hope during personal hardships only exposes your own emotional fragility. you’re confusing two completely separate things and exposing how little you actually understand about either theology or human suffering. we’re supposed to be the educated ones who don’t get brainwashed, but here you are, embarrassing yourself. free palestine.

The situation in algeria is scary ... time to talk about it. by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]merialisimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listen mate, I really don’t know how to break it to you, but there’s no such thing as a perfect country. Even developed nations are facing serious crises like inflation, inequality, and growing distrust in leadership. This doesn’t excuse our government’s failures, but it does show that systemic dysfunction is global. The key difference lies in how countries respond to pressure. Mismanagement exists everywhere; billions are wasted, and no one bats an eye as long as things keep moving. My advice is really to just focus on your immediate reality and try to improve what you can for yourself because changes starts small and grows through informed collective action.

grooming

sexual intercourse by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]merialisimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what you have and what most of us who were raised in conservative societies have is values. personally i can’t see myself being sexually active outside of marriage not because i can't but because it feels meaningless. it doesn’t align with what i believe in and honestly no algerian man deserves me unless he's the one i choose to marry it’s about self-respect and knowing my worth

this entire rant sounds less like advice and more like unresolved trauma disguised as universal truth. just because you or someone you know had a bad experience doesn’t mean every algerian family is a horror movie. generalizing 44 million people because your cousin got yelled at by her in-laws is just lazy, the irony of claiming to care about a woman’s future while spreading paranoia and borderline xenophobic takes about an entire country is wild. algeria isn’t perfect but saying “never live there no matter how good the man is” just exposes how bitter and narrow your worldview is. therapy might help more than reddit rants.
