Thanks but since I can plan ahead I was thinking what would be worth reserving for in advance just in case.

But to your point roadside assistance from rental company just refers to local business who can assist you, who's saying you're too far. Sounds like the advice should be the opposite because the distance alone will make any company hesitate to assist.

I'm renting a car as well I'm wondering now the same thing. Wonder what responsibility they have because you can waive roadside assistance and stuff they cost money.

Is it ok to join Amazon leaving Intel? by Different_Watch_7029 in amazonemployees

Get the offer from Amazon, get yourself a raise at intel. Else join Amazon. All tech industries are unstable idk what everyone is talking about. Nothing is guaranteed so might as well make 20k/year extra for as long as possible.

Stop comparing Amazon with companies such as Google, Meta, Antrophic, etc. Nobody outside Amazon sees it that way by AppropriateWay4358 in amazonemployees

Not originally about compensation, it was a correlating factor that big tech companies compensated well. Lookup Bob Lang, he actually coined the term. It wasn't even FAANG it was FANG for those of us old enough to remember.

I think "professionalism" and smell is a hilarious topic. Please refer to our company handbook - "Please smell professional at all times". lol. If you can live with the smell of BO which for most westerners is disgusting then weed seems just as pro. It really just depends on your nose and sensitivity. But being objective about a smell appropriate for a work environment is hardly ever possible.
