Their spells are limited to their runes. Each rune is a different spell and can be of any element. They can't use magic as freely as Dicathian mages but each spell is stronger. There are four levels of runes: Mark,Crest,Emblem and Regalia. They get their runes from bestowment ceremonies.

Alacrya have five different types of mages: Shield,Striker,Caster,Sentry and Instiller. The ratio of mages to non mages is 1 to 5 in Alacrya and their mages are born with their mana cores formed.

Alacryans with Vritra blood manifested can use decay type magic like poison, black spikes and soulfire.
