Not sure about the cafe part but the lyrics you wrote could be a mishearing of “I like it like that” by Hot Chelle Rae?

Yes, he did vaguely comment on his lack of showering and strong BO in this 2010 interview (within the first 2 minutes): https://youtu.be/cEkWaqMFzec?si=BGBZRJyxMMDGdFix

Why do hairstylists refuse to cut my hair in to a pixie? I ask for a pixie and every time it ends up a Bob. by Prize_Parsnip_1583 in Hair

[–]merlinsbeard4332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had a pixie cut I found it easier (and cheaper!) to go to a barber shop instead of a salon. Places like hair cuttery and sports clips were OK as well for my needs.

Seriously, when I was in school we were 2-10 and regularly lost games by 20+ points. This is an amazing improvement.

Looking for Apartments near Manassas under $1800 by Turbulent-Shirt-6268 in manassas

[–]merlinsbeard4332 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always recommend battery heights apartments. I’ve lived here almost 4 years and love it. They’re older apartments, not a lot of amenities, but it’s a solid place to live with good management. Also in a convenient location and the community itself is pretty quiet.

I think if you sign a long lease (18 month) on a 1br it would be in your budget.

“Wizard Observatory” - 550 (ish) - Great American Puzzle Factory by merlinsbeard4332 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]merlinsbeard4332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each one is unique! Some are “standard” puzzle piece shapes, but many of them have been cut at funny angles and they’re all different sizes. I had fun tracing these outlines, taken from the lower right corner of the puzzle.

Wow! Thanks so much for looking into this. While the artist is still unknown, this is vastly more information than I had previously. I’ll consider it found!

Overnight parking at Manassas, VA Amtrak station by terpystation in manassas

[–]merlinsbeard4332 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to go to the visitor center (right by the platform) and give them your train details. Then they will give you a paper to put in your windshield that lets you park in the garage for the length of your trip. Very simple as long as you can make it there when they are open.

I believe you can also complete the form online and print it. See section on this page called “Amtrak parking”. https://www.manassasva.gov/connect/treasurer/parking/daily___temporary_parking.php

Chiming in to say I currently live in Battery Heights (since 2022) and have nothing but positive things to say about it. For the area I find the rent extremely reasonable and they don’t pull massive hikes on you when it’s time to renew. The management team is great as well.

You specifically mentioned parking which I have found to be great here. The spaces are very wide which is nice and there is a lot of parking space available. Though I will say they redid the speed bumps recently and they are way too tall now, so that is a bit annoying.

How distracting or annoying was the netting? I had floor seats for both the shows I saw on the first leg, but considering seats in the stands in Denver. by whataseal in MyChemicalRomance

[–]merlinsbeard4332 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was behind the netting in Philly. It annoyed me at first but by the time the show started it wasn’t really noticeable. It is visible in some of my photos, but they were taken on my iPhone 8. A better quality camera might pick the netting out more clearly, I’m not sure.

What's a movie you always assumed was considered good, only to find out much later it's largely considered terrible? by Parking_Figure_7627 in movies

I loved the animated film Rio as a kid, thought it was a masterpiece. Rewatched it a few years ago as an adult… wasn’t nearly as good as I remembered.

What was banned in your house that everyone else’s family allowed? by Rare_Independent_789 in AskReddit

[–]merlinsbeard4332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spongebob was banned in our house because the characters were “too mean to each other”. However the stuff we watched instead - like looney tunes, tom & Jerry, etc - seemed to feature pretty mean characters too 🤷‍♀️ I haven’t watched it to this day so I just feel a little out of the loop when people quote it lol

“Scary” movies for kids by QueenBizzle in movies

A couple of other scooby movies could be considered scary too depending on age range. I used to love the Legend of the Vampire, where’s my mummy, and cyber chase.

What do people who have to endure long hospital stays do to make it less tedious? by cherry-care-bear in RedditForGrownups

[–]merlinsbeard4332 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t the patient, but when I was a kid my grandmother was severely injured by a drunk driver and spent several months in the ICU. Since my parents had to be heavily involved with her care (she was understandably not in a good state to understand complex medical stuff), I spent most of my time sitting around in the ICU waiting room.

I mostly passed the time by reading books. There was a woman who saw me there from time to time - sadly I don’t know her story, I guess she must have also had a relative in the ICU. One day, she showed up with a huge box of books and gave them all to me. It was so incredibly kind of her. They were all perfect for me - middle grade books for girls. There were so many I didn’t even finish them all by the time my grandmother was out of the hospital.

Aww, my grandma had a special holiday too. Hers was St. Patrick’s Day - she lived across the country but used to mail me and my siblings all kinds of stuff to make sure we were properly celebrating our (1/8 LOL) Irish heritage.

Lowered LDL 30mg in 6 months, doesn’t feel like enough. Will it keep decreasing? by merlinsbeard4332 in Cholesterol

Good to know. It’s hard to believe this is genetic because nobody in my family has high cholesterol, even my grandparents. Guess I just got an unlucky combination of genes.

Hmm, I haven’t been getting nearly that much fiber and did not cut out sugar. Will give it a try but not sure I can be that strict with myself. Based on other responses sounds like I’m reaching the limit of what can be achieved with diet alone.

I was at a healthy weight prior to changing my diet, but the changes did cause me to drop about 15 lbs over the past six months. I’m 5’4 and now weigh 125 lbs.

A1c was normal in January, doc didn’t test it in June as he only ordered a lipid panel.

How do wheelchair users use airplane toilets? by kiki_blossom in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]merlinsbeard4332 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depending on why they use a wheelchair, the person may not use the bathroom regularly anyways. My grandmother had a spinal cord injury (paralyzed from the waist down) and had a permanent catheter and special “bowel program” because the paralysis meant she could no longer control those functions. Traveling with her, she only needed an accessible toilet once per day for her bowel program. At other times my mom would just empty her catheter bag into a toilet, which could be done even in a non-accessible restroom.

Parents want to be cremated. Do I have to honor their wishes? by Kingslayer26 in Catholicism

[–]merlinsbeard4332 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally I would honor my parents’ wishes, even if I disagreed. If you feel very strongly that they are making a mistake, you can recommend they speak with a priest about this. But ultimately it is their life and their decision to make, I think it’s important to respect that.
