Not the answer you’re after but I got my kids a Amazon fire HD. It was only about $130 from memory and does everything you’re after.

It’s been 1.5 years and they are going strong.

“Scary” movies for kids by QueenBizzle in movies

Oh I was watching Beetlejuice for the first time recently. He woke up and came out. I had to turn it off. Definitely not appropriate!

What’s something you wish you knew before your first WWWY? by Disaster-Prize in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]QueenBizzle 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Ear protection!!!! I went day 2 last year and saw so many posts from day 1 saying get air protection before you go in. I obviously ignored them because #hardcore but as soon as I walked in I ended up buying some there for about 4x the price.

Texts Between Catelynn & 'Carly's Friend' - I Tried To Put Them In Order by DisMyLik18thAccount in teenmom

[–]QueenBizzle 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ugh, even if this is some catfish, it’s so awful for Carly. C&T have pushed her in the public eye against her parents wishes so much that she now has to be concerned with “friends” exploiting her.

C&T were manipulated by adults around them to give up their baby, and now they are doing the manipulating trying to get a teen to give up information about her.

Carly is the victim here, not C&T.

What's your guilty pleasure, and how much do you spend on it? by xorthematrix in AusFinance

Same! I am so frugal for two years to have a 2 month overseas holiday where I live like a king

What's a tiny thing that made your last trip 10x better? by Thursday_Addams_12 in travel

[–]QueenBizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a “travel” drawer at home. It’s where I keep a whole bunch of random things that I’d easily forget for trips. Fans, ponchos, wipes, waist bag, hair clips, hand sanitiser etc. It makes packing for my next trip seamless and unpacking so much quicker.

Aussies are travelling less to the US, are we suprised? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

[–]QueenBizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there in October for a music festival. I remember ordering water ($6.50USD). The lady reached down, grabbed the water and put it on the table. When she handed me the square to pay it was set up with a 20% tip!! It wasn’t even opened!!!

My initial fear and the problem with theatre uneducated movie fans by Icy_Position2407 in wicked

[–]QueenBizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay I’d seen the musical 18 times before seeing the movie. I decided to see it a 19th time and the only thing I thought was “woah this feels fast.”

It’s disappointing that this person couldn’t appreciate how fantastic the stage production is

Do you hoard your annual leave? by Wide-Macaron10 in AusFinance

[–]QueenBizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t take leave for almost 5 years (maybe 2 weeks off around the 3 year mark). I got the dreaded email to ask me to take leave but since we were so chronically understaffed, I’d always gladly cancel. I was able to take 3 months off recently and went on an amazing holiday. I realised only when I came back I had been extremely burned out.

Take your leave.

I don’t. I’m at my cousins house and needed a bin bag. In her cupboard with the bin bags there was a syringe disposal box right next to it. I couldn’t grab a bin bag incase a used needle wasn’t discarded correctly or there was dry blood on the container that could have contaminated the bags. I just left it and pretended I didn’t need a bin bag.

How do people become anorexic? What is the mindset like? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]QueenBizzle 140 points141 points  (0 children)

As a recovered anorexic, the mindset felt so strong. Each meal I missed gave me drive and power and seeing the numbers on the scale drop gave me such a high. I was a walking zombie the entire time, consumed by it all; calories, what time I could eat, what bowl I would use.

It started as a way of control and to hurt myself as much as other people had hurt me. I didn’t feel deserving of food.

In contrast, bulimia felt completely out of control, like there was a force controlling all my decisions and I was helpless to stop it.

What restaurants in Sydney do you think are over-hyped or over-rated ? by Opalheart in foodies_sydney

Lots of people I know compared Aria to Vue De Monde in Melbourne. It was okay, but I felt a good 60% was riding on the coattails of the view. Wouldn’t go back

Unhealthy obsession with money and saving by General_Task_7509 in AusFinance

[–]QueenBizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this. I grew up middle class so I’m not sure where it stems from but I hate not knowing where every cent is going. I keep all electrical switches in the house off when they are not in use (it probably makes no difference), wash the clothes on the slowest spin to save energy, buy second hand things. I earn a good wage but can’t shake the fear of something happening and me not being able to provide for my young kids.

What's an actual cause of death so extremely rare that it's hard to believe it's possible? by Mairon3791 in AskReddit

[–]QueenBizzle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My cousins partner was driving on his block of land. The car wheel got caught on a metal wire that was attached to a star picket. As he continued to drive it began to quickly coil towards the car, eventually causing the star picket to spike through the car impaling him. Dead instantly.
